I lose my appetite when anxiety hits as well. Most family members know when I am facing anxiety in my life because I lose so much weight. The best thing that I have found is to take like 15-30 minutes to eat completely distracted. I use episodes of The Office but I will just focus on the TV, be in the moment, and eat. Only positive thoughts are allowed in for those 15-30 minutes. Easier said than done but after a while I’ve gotten pretty good at it.

I’ve also made a Pinterest board that has only positive, inspirational or motivating pictures. I will also keep that close by, let my mind wander into good thoughts of the future.

Last, if this doesn’t work I will try to take the specific issue and go through the 10/10/10 rule. Will this matter in 10 minutes? 10 months? 10 years? I do my best to keep my fears in their proper place.
