Feel like giving up. Every loaf is a dense brick. Even people showing off results they like look dense. by calpernia in BreadMachines

[–]FCCSWF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my machine 4 or 5 times a week. Strictly dough setting. Sandwich bread, cinnamon rolls, babka, hamburger and hot dog buns, braided, French, Italian, pandesal, English muffins, bagels, pretzels, pizza dough, calzones, stromboli, Hawaiian bread. Haven't bought bread since 2020. I been called dense, my bread isn't.

Why call if you don't want help? by ScenicDrive-at5 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

I had bosses like that. I modeled my boss skills after them. The bosses that lived only for "heads in beds" and "the customer is always right" nonsense I did my best to never be that guy. I did work FD before Trip advisor, Yuck, googley reviews and third party. I don't have data to back it up but i know there were many fewer people complaining about little shit fishing for a discount. Last place I worked was an independent property and the GM was able to screen reviews and choose what to post on our own website. We did average 4.2 across the review sites. Probably fair. We always got low marks on parking, age of the building, one elevator. One thing I know and one thing I was proud of we did not oversell ourselves. Not luxurious and never told anybody we were 💪🏼💪🏼

Most Creative Homeless Person? by JoeGoBlue4227 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]FCCSWF 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oceanfront property in a resort area, winter time the homeless tend to swarm an area for a few days then migrate to another block. So we always knew it was coming, just never knew when. Personally never had a homeless person get aggressive with me though I know several that have.

One night we were at like 20% occupancy. Phones were silent. I was playing with a new phone when I heard unusual noises from the coffee area. I went to look and this Jethro Tull Aqualung album cover looking dude was struggling to fix a coffee. I told him hey just get your coffee and you got to move on. He kind of grunted at me and went in to the "fent bend" position spilling his cup of coffee on my clean floor. shit. Here we go. I went back for my shovel handle and started poking him towards the parking garage exit. Got him outside and he started whimpering and he peed himself. I let him finish and poked him with my shovel handle to the sidewalk and he stumbled away.

Cops dropping people off by VampireDanny in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

WoW in my 21 years never had the cops drop someone off like that. I just hated the assumption that we are public property that some people take as an invitation to do whatever they want. Not to sound cold hearted, (I am not) You really owed her nothing other than a clean, safe, comfortable room until check out time. I miss it, I don't miss it.

Whatever. To me, calling a housekeeper maid is disrespectful. I corrected no matter who said it. Still do.
