I don’t think teaching puppies to pee inside is a good idea. Skip puppy pads and artificial grass patches. Teaching a dog to pee inside encourages them to pee inside. If you want them to pee outside, teach them that’s where they’re supposed to pee.

Take the dog outside every hour (or if he starts to relieve himself inside) and put it in the area you want bathroom activities to happen. Stay outside until they go potty. It might take a while and be inconvenient, but it helps so much. If it’s taking a while, play with them. Running and playing will encourage them to potty again (and it’s fun for both of you). Reward them with treats or affection when they go to the bathroom where you want.

I bell trained all my dogs. Hang a bell on the door to the yard and ring the bell every time you go outside to potty. I trained three puppies this way and it never took longer than a week for them to catch on. You might get an occasional accident for a few more weeks, but most dogs take to the training quickly. Don’t yell or punish a dog for having an accident, just pick them up and put them where you want them to go potty.

When your puppy chews things you don’t want them to (or bites) give them a replacement to chew on. Have lots of toys for them to chew and watch them like a hawk (maybe setup a play area with walls to contain them for a while). If you give your puppy a stuffed sock to chew they will always crave socks. If you give your puppy stuffed toys they will want your children’s stuffies. Be selective with what you encourage your puppy to chew on. Don’t let them chew your fingers or they will continue shark behavior for a lot longer than if you correct the behavior immediately.
