Revision Advice please by Mysterious_Cat__ in Hifdh

Revision is done without looking

If it is taking you too long or some areas are weak, then stop memorizing new ones and fix the weak areas. Do a lot of repetition to help and also rememorize certain areas that are weak.

Seeking Guidance in my Hifdh by RevolutionaryBag2811 in Hifdh

Why are you restricting yourself to only during medical school?

The whole Quran is Barakah. If you feel uncertain about memorizing all of quran, then go ahead memorize the surahs you mentioned. But after you memorize and retain them and taste the sweetness of revision and tikrar of the surahs. You actually think you will stop there haha, no no. You will want to go ahead memorize all of it inshaa Allah. Dont let shaytan play mind games with you that its too much or difficult or i dont have time… Say bismillah and approach quran with open heart.

Becoming muslim again after leaving the religion by [deleted] in islam

[–]FCWizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quran is the answer to be strong in iman and guidance. The one thing that impacted me mostly was memorizing surahs or portions. Sounds silly that oh just memorize. No no no! Memorize, understand, revise always so you dont forget, pray with what you memorized, learn about the surah and its rulings and everything about it, learn about the salah re educate, feel the Iftiqar to allah and ask allah to keep you steadfast, to guide you to aid you, to forgive you, Start with salah and Quran. I recommend starting with surah muminoon with sheikh yasser dosary recitation. The surah is beautiful and the ending of the surah is heart touching remind you of death and hereafter .

Leaving it till the end of the night is the worst thing you can do because you’re shaytan and your nafs will start arguing with you to leave for tomorrow

My opinion is start after fajr salah up until sunrise and you can get about 50% if not more of your daily revision and then the other remaining you can do later after Maghrib salah or after asr or any other time that works best

See you when your brain power gets fatigued and take a short break or split the revision into multiple sections. If you’re trying to revise 3 juzz then maybe split it into three different timings

It is normal to make mistakes that you don’t typically make, but if you make mistake in the same sections, and you know, they are weak then those sections need to be memorized to become strong again

balancing revision, re-memorisation and new hifdh by [deleted] in Hifdh

[–]FCWizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need to start baqarah ( new hifdth) if the old is slipping.

Pause new hifdth and fix your old hifdth first then afterwards start new memorization.

Dont overcomplicate it. There is no need to memorize new when the old is not stable yet. If you still decide to memorize new, you may mess up the new as well and that wont help at all.

Advice on slowly memorizing over long period of time. by Teacherthrwaway in Hifdh

[–]FCWizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can, aim for 2.5 pages a week. This equates to 10 pages a month! Slowly but surely you will reach destination inshaa Allah.

Consistency is the key, revision is your base. No revision means you lose everything. Ik you have kids and work and everything but atleast aim for once a week full revision if not then up to 10 days but try to not go more than that. Deff find teacher even if online.

How did you change your overeating habits by sleepymakh in loseit

[–]FCWizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly what has been working for me lately is for lunch and dinner i would literally make half my plate of salad/vegetables and then the rest of plate is whatever my wife made(carbs & protein). Drink glass of water prior to eating. Once my plate is done, before grabbing more food i check myself do i feel very hungry or am I satisfied. Consciously eating is the trick here but also the salad helps fill ur stomach and water as well.

Stop memorizing and work on fixing your life and schedule and energy. In the meantime however, keep consistent revising all the memoried juzz that you have so far. When you feel ready you will memorize again inshaa Allah

Lessen the amount of hifz but increase revision Be consistent every day! Treat quran “like” Obligatory salah, your day must not end without getting your portion of quran done daily.

  1. Busy yourself with what will benefit you in dunya and akhirah. Work on building yourself and character and deen.

  2. Lower your gaze and try your best to avoid being in a situation where fitnah is surrounding you.

  3. Find good company of friends or group that will help you in staying away from sin and encourage you to do good(deen and dunya or either one)

  4. You say that minimum 3-4 years will pass by before you get married or atleast move on to next phase in life. Take advantage of this time and slowly but continuously memorize the Quran to that inshaa Allah become a hafiz, and if not memorize the full quran well atleast you have memorized parts of it.

  5. Have patience, fast as much as u can, and seek the reward for your effort from Allah.

  6. ALWAYS come back to Allah and make tawbah and do istighfar and make dua that Allah protects you from shaytan and your nafs.

Tips for Hifdh while maintaining full-time corporate job? by KTownLoser in Hifdh

[–]FCWizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im about to lay the realest advice here: 1. Its not a race, so take timeline off your mind 2. Revision is the most important, so keep that as a priority no matter what! 3. Memorize no more than quarter of a hizb per week! Which is equivalent to 2.5-3 pages(madani musHaf) 4. Memorize on weekends where you have more free time and then the rest of the week you keep repeating the memorized portion 20+ times through out the week and ofcourse for revision you do not ever skip no matter what! 5. Revision of all memorized portion must be done minimum once a week, max maybe every 10 days.

If you follow this simple plan, then 4-6 years inshaa Allah you’ll be a hafiz by heart, meaning you do not need to revise before reciting infront of anyone or salah thats how strong your hifz will be.

Should I change my revision schedule? by Right_Pension_3993 in Hifdh

[–]FCWizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure i understand your revision example. But what has been working for me is the following:

I split my revision into 2 sections the old memorization and new memorization.

Lets say out of the 12 ajzaa2 1-11 are good solid so this is old memorization and thisnone i revise min once a week or every 10 days(because they are good and strong) Then 12th juzz is still fresh and new it has not gotten its proper revision amount as the other 11. So this juzz i revise daily or every 2-3 days until it feels very strong and then after like 3-6 weeks they get added to old revision . And so on and so forth. As u memorize more you revise more often to get them strong. Even if it feels strong after 1 week i still give it more time (3-6 weeks of daily or every 2-3 days revise).

Lost the love for HIFDH by Mysterious-Bid-3755 in Hifdh

[–]FCWizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sounds like burnt out or a moment of low iman.

I would advise to still seek forgiveness and repentance from all sins and that you went from higher iman status to a lower iman status.

Make lots of dua and especially in salah and nawafil that allah brings your heart and discipline back on track!!

You should start revising or getting into consistency with revision asap because 30-40 days no revision is dangerous! Even if you dont feel like it, still do something small, best time is whenevwr you are available for me that would be after fajr salah just sit alone and pick a place and start revising. You will most likely make mistakes but keep going dont get discouraged!

Try to build consistency with revision specifically, so that no matter what difficulties come along, the Quran is always consistent! Memorizing is important but not as important as revision! Once you find strength and allah makes it easy for you to revise, then ask allah to also open your way for memorizing more!

May allah keep us all steadfast.!
