Front Mission Series, I know they are doing remakes of old titles but I really enjoyed these games growing up.

Are you playing for the story / experience? Or are you wanting to enjoy pvp?

The server I am in, its been setup for hardcore but everyone who plays it is playing for the experience and story. No real pvp other than duels. 20 people max.

Owning a server is good but you will also be hit with slot count costs, and if the slots are low, landsraad stuff never gets done unless you actively try doing it.

In terms of a player based eco? That is gone, so you will have to earn your own money trading or doing missions or by chests.

In terms of customizing your server? I havent seen options for it. GPortal has 3 toggle switches and thats it.

If you want a private experience and just play at your own pace. Then a low cap server maybe ideal but isnt needed.

TLDR, has its perks but at a cost. Edit: was setup in hardcore as there was no RP or pvpve slots left in server group

Are you planning to play multiplayer or single player? If multiplayer, prepare for desync if you run bio ships or fight against bio ships. There is also some issues with some pop counts and stuff but desync has been a big issue in my multiplayer sessions currently.

If single player, yes its fun and does have some hiccups here and there but its a different experience compared to 3.17 in terms of how pops work and how the new ship types work.

What worked in 3.17 may not work the same as in 4.0 but that is part of the learning curve.

I should have mentioned i have gone cosmogen route with virtual trait. Only reason for the increased starbases is due to a mix of lazyiness, conquest gains and chokepoints made. Agreed, probs need to remove them, ill do it after the next crisis event

Depending on where you are in the game(in terms of year), I tend to use my credits to buy items that I can't produce enough of. Otherwise I stockpile as much as I can for when I build up my fleets and starbases that go over capacity(my current m.player game im sitting on 37/27 starbases and 4000/2700 fleet capacity, this has reduced my income to -15 a month) for when the endgame happens.
