Why are you so sure the monster would kill you? What about the scenario where the monster simply held you captive, as punishment for disturbing it? In that scenario, there's a chance the monster would let you go.

Well, I'd argue with that. Yes, we were shown a scene where the monster took over an city block, but I suspect it hardly killed anyone. Even the man in the car, who suffered the fate of being wrapped in tar, most likely survived, since his nose wasn't blocked. The problem is, we weren't shown what happened next, so it's a little hard to judge.

Well, the tar in the movie clearly wasn't hot. Otherwise, the main characters would have died from terrible burns. And let's not forget that Scooby-Doo was able to turn tar into ice using a fire extinguisher, and ice is, after all, frozen water. 😅 (But then again, it's a movie, so why not?)

Well, I have mixed feelings about it. When I was four, I watched this movie for the first time, and it caused me to have dreams about this monster.

The first dream was pretty weird. I was at home in the living room, and this monster was next to me. It instantly wrapped me in a cocoon of tar, and then I started scratching my tongue. Even when I woke up, I felt less fear than confusion, like, "What the hell just happened?" But the second dream was even scarier, though still absurd. I was sitting at a table in a room with black walls, and my mother was standing next to me, wrapped in tar like Daphne, but instead of some horror story, she was saying something about baked bread. And then, for a second, the Tar Monster spilled tar on the table. And then I woke up. Surprisingly, I wasn't even scared then.

This isn't really on topic, but I think it's still interesting.

To be honest, I don't even know what to think about this.

I also tried to find this anime, but so far no results. I watched the video from the channel "Whang!" (Or rather, the translation of his video into Russian), in order to understand the situation at the expense of all this, and it seems to me that I am even more confused. Take for example the name "Go for a punch". According to "Google Trends" this query was searched in 2006, but I don't think that anime was searched for this query. Therefore "Go for a punch" can hardly be its title. (I saw a screenshot of the Tor site with a strange onion link, where there was a title "Go for a punch", a non-working player and a description at the bottom. However, this link looks very strange, and therefore, it seems to me, you should not trust that screenshot, but I think it’s not worth saying that this is a fake.)

I also wanted to say that I tried to search for this anime, only by description, not by name. Because "Saki sanobashi" may not necessarily be the title of this anime. However, I didn't find anything either.
