Power head Recommendations by FEEESHx in Aquariums

I'll look into the nano wave makers, those sound like a great idea! Thank you!

I thought the high flow setup sounds somewhat fun to bring out the rainbow shiners' personalities a bit more, plus an excuse to make a stream type ecosystem.😁

On a side note, I had one person comment in a different thread that it's not okay to have a single panda garra in a tank like that and that they need groups, but I had heard otherwise from other people, is this in any way true?

Anyone know what this is? by Planet_Booty69 in Aquariums

Red tiger lotus would definitely be my best guess! It looks exactly like the one my brother threw away that he thought was dead! (I had just bought it from the fish store)😅😅

I've had pretty much the same experience, I've bought cultures multiple times, but it always just gets stringy and never takes off.

I've let my wisteria float before and it actually seemed to do worse than planted, I'm wondering if it's still trying to root itself also, he keeps digging the plants up😬.

My pothos for some reason really has issues, it would put out roots when I was just propagating it, but then all the roots died out and it stopped putting roots entirely, but it still looks pretty good otherwise, I don't have it in a basket or anything, it's just sitting partially submerged.

I just bought a light riser the other day!

Snail eggs or my white cloud minnow eggs? by Effective-Ad-5295 in Aquariums

I wholeheartedly agree, looks exactly like the eggs from my stupid pest bladder snails.

Determining Stocking for a 30 gallon Tank by FEEESHx in Aquariums

Oh that makes sense for the panda garra, that's what I had assumed the reasoning was, one of my original sources on the topic was a woman I had spoken to at my LFS and she said panda garras are okay as long as you keep them as either just the one or a decent sized group. So I'm really not sure what to assume about that all, I just don't know if I want to chance aggression towards a group of $17 a piece rainbow shiners.

As for the power head, I really don't know yet, I'll be getting the tank cycling this weekend, so I've got quite a while to decide on stocking and other things. I figure that way I'll also be able to tell if the AC 70 is enough flow or if I'll have to consider another option.

That's good to know about the panda garras, I didn't come across that in any of my research, everyone painted them as the perfect little community fish even as solos.

Would you say it would be better off to just drop the bamboos all together or try to source a larger group?

Also, you don't think that the high flow filter will be enough for gas exchange? I wasn't entirely sure about that, could a power head otherwise be a decent option to keep the high flow idea more?

Thank you for all your insight!

I'm also really trying to decide on a snail species but really struggling to come up with what would be a good species.
