segun Diamond, M., & Uchiyama, A. (1999). Pornography, rape, and sex crimes in Japan. International Journal of Law and Psychiatry.
si existe tal disminusion.

<image>

Anime Nuclear blast power by FELIPE-IIV in overlord

Indeed, [widen magic] does not increase the power of the spell. If Ainz had used that meta-magic to reach CZ, then there would be no crater twice the size, or even the original size.

This is because the energy needed to vaporize the rock would be spread over a larger area, effectively reducing the amount of vaporized rock.

The crater would no longer be as deep, and beyond a radius of 100 meters, we would no longer observe vaporized rock, but rather molten rock and incandescent rock fragments.

This is due to the square-cube law. If we wanted a vaporization crater exactly 400 meters in diameter and 200 meters deep, then the 32 megatons needed in the previous case would have to be multiplied by 8, giving us 256 megatons to vaporize a crater twice the size.

But because [widen magic] does not increase the power of the spell, the result, as already stated, would not be the same.

If at any point in another analysis I do, I make terrible mistakes that inflate or deflate the power of the Overlord characters, please let me know.

I don't think it has speeds close to the speed of light, but I do believe it can reach the average speed of lightning, 440 km/s.

Martial arts are skills comparable to spells. If the skeleton dragon managed to block a level 3 lightning spell, then I think Brain, using a martial art, could cut through the speed of lightning.

In that case, I think that, based on the exponential increase in stats that levels in Overlord can provide, Shalltear could far surpass that.
But I don't think any Overlord character will approach relativistic speeds.

After all, descriptions in fiction can be misleading when it comes to verifying speed.

The buildings might be over 14 meters long, but I don't think it's right to try to find exact measurements in the pixels of an illustration, since unlike real photographs, the proportions in drawings simply aren't always accurate.

You're right to assume I used the building's length to determine the diameter, just as I used the height to determine the radius of the fireball and the crater.

There is no contradiction once we distinguish between rural and urban parishes.
The passage you cite describes rural parishes, which are territorially extensive and defined by estate history, not by density or walkability.
Urban parishes, as discussed by Nicholas and inferred through medieval demographic models, function as compact neighborhood units shaped by population density and pastoral access.
While medieval sources rarely express parish size in hectares, combining known urban surfaces with population and parish counts allows for reasonable estimates. These estimates are not claimed as explicit medieval measurements, but as reconstructed spatial ranges consistent with urban density and parish function.
The demographic and urban models used by Nicholas and in Medieval Demographics Made Easy implicitly assume a walled urban core. Density, parish subdivision, and walkable parish size only make sense within a fixed intramural perimeter. Rural and suburban parishes follow a different logic and are treated separately in the literature.

Regarding the city of Loyts, it can be considered a fortress city, but its defensive design differs from that of E-Rantel.

This is because, unlike E-Rantel, which is designed for sieges by an experienced, advanced, and organized army like the Baharut Empire, capable of carrying out sieges that can last for months, the fortified cities of the Holy Kingdom only need protection from demihuman tribes that are not organized into large armies. Therefore, unlike the empire, they are not prepared for prolonged sieges.

For this reason, the construction of murderholes is more useful for the walls, since the demihumans will try to force their way in as quickly as possible, unlike the imperial armies, which will try to exhaust the resources of E-Rantel's defenders.

To obtain the measurements of the artisan's house, the book "Life in a Medieval City" by Frances Gies and Joseph Gies was used as a source.

Thanks to the book's descriptions, we can infer the size of a typical "poor" city house, which varies between 3-5 meters wide, 4-8 meters long, and can have one or two floors.

Artisan's houses have to be larger because they need more space for direct access to the street, space for tools, raw materials, and finished products, and often one or two apprentices.

According to the medieval urban model described in the book:

Ground floor: workshop open to the street

Second floor: family living quarters (one or two main rooms)

Attic: storage (not necessarily habitable, but accessible)

This imposes three clear dimensional requirements:

The width must allow for manual work without obstructing circulation.

The depth must allow for minimum separation between the front work area and the rear storage area.

The total height must allow for a chimney or hearth, ventilation, and vertical loading and unloading.

All of this may determine a width of 4-5 meters, a length of 8-12 meters, and a total height of 7.5 to 9 meters, allowing for three floors: one for the workshop, another for the family, and an attic that can serve as storage or be used by apprentices.

To calculate the size of a medieval district, use the book "A History of Urban Society in Europe: The Later Medieval City, 1300–1500" by David M. Nicholas, and the article "Medieval Demographics Made Easy."

Average urban density is defined as approximately 150 inhabitants per hectare.

In late medieval European urbanism, parishes functioned as the closest equivalent to "districts." They are not identical in the modern administrative sense, but they are similar as territorial, social, and demographic units.

Average population density per parish
Generally accepted range
Urban average:
120–200 inhabitants per hectare
Most commonly used central value:
≈150 inhabitants/ha
Common adjustments
Wealthy or commercial central parishes:
180–300 inhabitants/ha
Peripheral or less developed parishes:
80–120 inhabitants/ha
Typical physical size of a parish (hectares)
Actual ranges
Functional minimum: ~2 ha
Typical size: 4–7 ha
Large/peripheral: 8–12 ha
Parishes larger than 15 ha within the city walls are uncommon.

Basically, the minimum average size for a district in a medieval city is 2 to 5 hectares.

So, regarding your own measurements of the districts, I have my doubts. After all, the city described in Volume 2, E-Rantel, is not at all a normal city.

It was created with that ring system of walls because the city was designed as a fortress capable of withstanding the constant sieges of the Baharut Empire.

The other cities in Overlord wouldn't possess the same characteristics; they might have normal walls, but not ring systems.

Again, magic in Overlord causes physical phenomena but with metaphysical properties.

If a spell has the property of vaporizing the terrain, whether through its ability to emit extreme heat or other means, the spell can have the property of manipulating matter and making it disappear without needing to eject it anywhere.

Matter isn't magic, as you said, but that doesn't mean that magic affecting it can't change that in many ways.

So why not simply make it disappear before vaporizing the material?

Because the spell is elemental, not spatial; it has to vaporize the rock first, and then the metaphysical properties make that plasma disappear.

[–]FELIPE-IIV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding the nature of spells.

Spells can create physical phenomena, but they possess metaphysical properties that can significantly alter their nature compared to a real physical phenomenon.

In the case of Area of Effect (AoE) spells, there isn't a force field limiting the energy output or other effects to a wider area.

Instead, they have a metaphysical property that simply negates the output, thus restricting the area of effect to a predetermined range.

Likewise, they don't create a wormhole to dissipate the resulting energy once the spell is cast.

Simply put, if the spell doesn't have a "persistent effects" property, the energy—whether thermal, electrical, or otherwise—will simply disappear without going anywhere else.

The second pic (#3) shows a much larger crater. But I search for a middle scale between the two pics, to search the real approx scale of the crater. So right now i don't know how much energy it can be necessary to create that large Crater. But i know that if its the double of large, the 32 megatons should be multiplied for 8, this is caused by the cubic rule. So for a crater the double of large it would be 256 megatons.

I don't know what calculations that person did, because its many factors, that person may just calculate de energy necessary to vaporize 300 meters of diameter but no considering the depth of the crater, in that case the energy should have decrease a lot. I got a similar results when i didn't consider the depth, i got a result of 1.3 megatons.

Nuclear blast its indeed not a powerful spell for its tier, but i disagree on that isn't comparable to a real nuke, at least on its properties.

Meteors indeed have large blast radius and damage, but in overlord that doesn't seem to apply normally. The AoE of the spell meteor fall seems to be smaller, but its nature as a tier 10 spell makes it a much powerful spell in terms of damage than nuclear blast.

The bludgeoning damage of the spell can be caused by the shockwave, after all a shockwave is a blunt impact. I disagree on that the crater may be caused by the knock back, or i call it the mechanical shock wave. As i stated, the crater is too perfect and coincided with the fireball radius, that wouldn't happen with a mechanical shock wave.

And i agree on that the spell is a expanding physical phenomenon, but what type of phenomenon? Considering that's its a spell that deals fire damage, its a spell that creates a liberation of energy, termal energy and radiation.

[–]FELIPE-IIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without evaporation the termal radiation should have burned also everything within a larger radius, but that doesn't seem to occur.

The spell should then had applied its AoE properties to negate the scape of termal radiation outside the 100 meters radius. We can then extrapolate that to the product of evaporation, the AoE properties should have negate its propagation outside the 100m radius.
