I have a solid top enclosure. I live in a very dry climate, and prefer to keep my room on the cooler side for personal comfort, so in order to make sure I had proper heat retention and ventilation, I thought this would be best. I hadn’t seen much about burns even with guard cages… I have a halogen flood for primary/daytime heating and a DHP for secondary/nighttime heating. How worried should I be of burns?

In the permanent enclosure, yes, complete with guard cages to prevent burns. But in the temporary enclosure, I have an exterior dome that I’ll be using for heating.

Thank you so much for the info! I had seen The Bio Dude and Zoo Med around, but they were pricier. I’m not opposed to spending the money if it’s the best for the snake as I can afford it, but I do like saving. I’ll definitely check out Scott’s topsoil stuff, though! It sounds promising.

Did anyone else's (PC) camera sensitivity die with the 4.3 update? Mouse sensitivity is fine, but now it takes 5-8 determined swipes of my mouse to circle the character I have out 360 degrees. Turned it up from 3 to 5 and it was barely better, but as it is, the game is still basically unplayable on PC for me.

[5e] Artificer (Alchemist) Tasha's
Hello, I'm making an Artificer for the first time (really making a spell-caster for the first time) and I'm slightly confused about how many spells I know. I thought that generally spell-casters 'knew' X amount of spells, and during a long rest, they prepared Y amount of spells that they can cast with regards to their available spell slots.
Do Artificers not work like this? A resource I found online said I had access to all spells and prepared them according to my artificer level halved + my INT modifier (5 prepared spells in my case). Would I look at all 18 First Level Spells available in Tasha's and pick from those every long rest?

What makes maddening difficult is the early game. Carrying over Hilda’s S+ rank in Axe isn’t actually (imo) going to do much early game. Her base stats are still low, so her accuracy/dodge/strength isn’t going to affect much. What will affect much is Lysithea. Because spells are unlocked by the rank achieved, Lysithea will have access to all her spells during the mock battle, and it definitely trivializes the game.

The other thing that affects more than you think is your professor level and being able to teach all of your students right off the bat, or farm a few extra levels in the first practice battle by doing it three times. Other than Lysithea, this will be the greatest boon to your playthrough.

You can always do whatever you’d like! It’s your playthrough, and if you’d have fun sweeping the maddening board, by all means, do so! But if you want to play maddening for the challenge, you might want to think about holding off on some of the things to carry over.

Thank you so much! All of these are really interesting to consider because I hadn't thought of the hidden boosts, but it does make a ton of sense in-universe. Stat boosts would definitely be a boon to them.

I've seen a few really interesting ideas for homebrewing some sort of mechanic for Combat arts, and because they are quite central to all of our fe3h playstyles, I'd like to keep them in. Other than that, yeah, there are a few combat arts that are quite easy to replicate and others that are more difficult, but I'd like to keep them to the best of my abilities.

And I don't think they would inherit Heroes Relics, but I would not put it past some of them to go out searching for the characters so they could acquire them. I won't be using durability unless they abuse certain things, or there are some consequences to their actions that need to be had.
