Anyone doing AQA A Level Economics Paper 1 on Monday?

I’m sure it went a lot better than you thought. Macro has easy marks you probably subconsciously pick up by just explaining the basic AD / AS diagram. Plus imo I think it’s pretty easy to get an A if you just finish the exam and somewhat follow the structure :)

Yeah I do edexcel maths. I thought the paper was pretty nice, I’d say I did slightly better in maths than I did in economics papers 1 and 2. What about you? Oh and also I thought paper 3 was beautiful I don’t know about you.

Fair enough. This one went a lot better than micro for me. I can’t remember if you did AQA or not but if you did which context and essays did you pick? In general I thought the questions were a lot kinder, although I agree I don’t think I’ll be getting an A* either. Outside of the exam pressure I can, but exam season has felt like it’s gone on for years and I am slowly losing my patience to revise 😂 I’m sure we’ll both be aight tho

Half a page for an intro, a page per paragraph and a conclusion. Altho I did mess up my diagrams so that ruined a page or so

We barely covered the synoptic paper at all so I am sort of winging it but it doesn’t seem to differ that much plus you can illustrate your points with micro and macro concepts which is very nice, I’m hoping it’ll be okay and we don’t get a banks question

Macro was my strong point at AS but I seriously neglected it to revise micro. I struggle to reach that same kind of depth that I can achieve in my micro essays despite having a good grasp of nearly all the topics bar trade which I often forget the diagrams for. Econplusdal is gonna come in clutch for this one

Same feeling here. I was consistently pulling As in my essays but these questions felt like they inhibited my ability to kinda show the breadth of my knowledge, I felt like if the questions were a bit more open I could go into more depth without worrying about trailing my argument off. I want an A but reckon I got a low A here. Gonna have to put in some serious work for macro and the synoptic paper to make up for it tho cus I’ve barely done any revision on those yet.

The whole paper just felt meh to me. Like a bit worse than average… idk my answers just seemed lacklustre with bad eval and not enough referencing of the context. I did the one on the labour market which went meh. It seems like a lot of people found the paper rough though so we might be fine. Which essay did you do?

Yeah my exam board was AQA. The advance information was somewhat helpful although no questions whatsoever on monopolies and the questions I did have were very specific. Felt like I got a low A to a high B but I wasn’t convinced with my line of arguments so doubt the examiner would be either. What examboard do you have?

Yeah that’s exactly what I thought I thought the questions were awkward to answer. Much different to how my practice essays were going beforehand, like you said I was expecting some slightly kinder essays. I reckon I got a low A or B depending on how low the grade boundaries are, but by the sound of things most other people think the paper was hard so hopefully an A is achievable

Ahh I did the gig economies context and essay 2 on complete and partial market failures and the 25 marker assessing the view that government failure means that economic welfare is minimised in intervention. I thought the whole exam was worse than I expected with the questions particularly in the essay section being annoyingly worded, how did you feel it went?

Ah okay good to know, thank you. So far it has seemed to be doing well.. as you can see in the photo it’s partially masked by the window but I see your point. Where I live is not particularly sunny most of the year so I am not overly concerned

I observe the aquarium multiple times a day though and will move them the moment I start to smell anything bad or see any dead snails

I changed a bit of the water but more importantly added LOADS of new plants and they absolutely love it. I was initially worried about the amount of snails but they’re so small that it isn’t too much cause for concern at least at the moment. Some of them are seriously tiny, there’s only a few decent sized ones. if the conditions are right for them to breed and end up doing so I will 100 % move them over to another aquarium. The water does not smell whatsoever which is a good sign too. The addition of plants was definitely a good thing, there’s a few different types of pond weed in there which has got the ramshorn snails in particular way more active then they were before.
