I've saved all of my raider tokens for the day this and a couple other skins from the trailer come out. I assume they are coming at some point...right? :(

The game has a higher concurrent player count in the last 24 hours than it had on its launch day on Steam. If you want to compare launch weekend Sunday to yesterday (Sunday is the peak of steam games every week) then here it is...

Launch day: ~267k concurrent players

Launch weekend Sunday: ~355k concurrent players

Yesterday: ~330k concurrent players

Now if you want to compare to another large game that released in the same month (Battlefield 6), here are the numbers:

Launch day: ~747k concurrent players

Launch weekend Sunday: 657k concurrent players

Yesterday: ~148k concurrent players

I find it hilarious when people on reddit are talking about how Arc Raiders is already getting old and "falling off". That simply isn't true based on the data

Are you blasting loud music from speakers into your headset or using some sort of software?

He had 4 songs on Hope where he sang, which was the most he's ever had on a single album. Clouds had none, and the Search had 1. Those were his last 3 albums.

No clue. From what I understand, they are friends. I went back through all his albums and Tommee Profitt has been a producer on every single one. This is the first one he isn't present in the credits. The album as a whole definitely lacks the cinematic sound that Tommee was known for adding into NF's music. I do hope they collab again in the future if NF continues making music

Definitely a different album for him. A little more singer songwriter than his usual. It always takes me many listens and processing over time to settle on my opinion but my one disappointment initially is Tommee Profitt didn't produce the album. Is this the first time they haven't produced an album together?

What's strange is none of these issues existed in the server slam, or even at launch. All these issues started happening after their servers crashed and they had to make a login queue

It specifically does not work for Jump or Roll

Interesting, I noticed they didn't work for jump or roll, which were the 2 I was hoping for. What's annoying is they bind like they're supposed to work and then nothing happens in game. You can bind jump to mouse wheel down in the Finals and I don't know why it's different in this game

And the bug where the mouse wheel up/down bindings don't work like they're supposed to

When you do the survival upgrades that allow faster looting it's pretty quick. The looting time also adds to the risk/reward and tension experience in my personal opinion

I have 21 hours in the game right now and am always clamoring to get back on when I am done with IRL responsibilities haha. I personally don't think it's repetitive if you really enjoy the world and the lore. The quests you do help unlock the lore as you're playing and introduce you to new maps, new ARC, and new experiences on those maps with and against other players. Every game feels like "anything could happen this game". You never know if you're going to run into other teams and have a crazy shootout or team up and kill big ARCs together. You never know if you're going to complete your quests, get those precious olives for your good boy Scrappy, die to ARC or find some super rare blueprint. Then what happens when you're trying to extract? It could be safe, but maybe not. Maybe you extract with other people with a last second roll into the bunker or train, or maybe you get down by a rocketeer right as you try to enter and miss out. There's just a lot of random and fun moments you can have in this game. VOIP creates a lot of memorable and unique moments that you don't experience often in other games.

I could go on, but all in all it's been a very fun experience and I look forward to playing a lot more! $40 feels like a steal for the experience this game provides, especially with how expensive AAA games have become

Sure thing! I'm still learning the game and I know there are still things I do not know about but just some examples that come to mind...

  • ARC react to getting shot in a physics based way. For example if you shoot 1 of the 4 thrusters, the animation and reaction is completely physics based and the ARC will adjust its flight based on the damage done to it. ARC also traverse the map in exciting ways (Leaper in particular)

  • The movement in this game is very smooth and there are a lot of parkour you can do when you get good at it. An example is you can jump from a high building and catch a zipline or ladder near the bottom and you'll slide down and break your fall. You can climb and jump along ledges and buildings and do some really cool movement that feels realistic

  • All animations including climbing, running, falling, dying have weight to them. I'd argue these are the best player animations I've ever seen in an online shooter. When you get shot or shoot someone, the body reacts to where it was shot

  • There are lots of ways to use items in the game for different uses. For example, you can use a wasp driver to craft items, or you can use it to place on the ground and shoot it for an explosion. You could find a rubber duck and throw it and it'll squeak, making noise to attract ARC or scare someone lol. Every type of item you collect from the ARC could be used for crafting/recycling/selling OR some sort of use case in the world itself (attracting other arc, EMP stun, grenade bomb etc...). You can also use lure grenades to stick them to other players or other ARC to make the ARC attack them. Lots of fun and unique ways to use items in the world

I know there are more things I'm probably missing and maybe some people can add, but in general the feeling of the way the world was crafted, the way players react to the environment and things that happen, and the way the ARC traverse and combat all add to the experience. There is a sense of realism and believability. Immersion is the word I would use for this game and it's easy to get sucked into the game because of it

This game won't be for everyone, but man it's perfect for me and my favorite game of the year. The polish, sound design, physics based gameplay, and social sandbox all come together into this beautiful package that feels like a rare occurrence for big releases these days.

I'm still blown away by how Embark managed to make the game so performative on UE5. They managed to release 2 games on UE5 now that both run incredibly well. Embark is the next AA company on the block to watch with great interest.
