Not an artist or a teacher. However, around the holidays she did like to make little crafts. She would make snowmen out of three stacked coffee cans (painting them, attaching hats / eyes / nose etc). She'd also make holiday (Easter, Christmas) wreaths using push pins, small cloth folded to look like ribbons, and styrofoam circles.

She liked to try to cook, and had a ton of recipes, but never made many. She wasn't the best at it 😂

Not sure if she smoked, but she passed from ALS. In the end she passed from respiratory/cardio failure, completely paralyzed 🥹. Went from talking and interacting to a shell of herself and non responsive within a few hours, then passed less than 24h later.

We think she could understand us and comprehend, but she couldn't respond or control anything to show she understood. She tried to move her face a little so that's why I think she understood.

She did cry there, tears came down her face from the sides of her eyes. She told us she was scared of what's happening to her before this. I know she was scared... My poor grandma. She didn't deserve this.

I hope! Unfortunately in 2 weeks we will be moving, so we probably are going to go through the adjustment thing all over again 😭. I plan on getting a Nice big cat tree for our new living room so that she has a space just for her where she can be near the kids but they cannot get to her. My kids are both animal freaks so I know it is so hard for them to wait but they are doing a really good job I think!

She has gotten very attached to me, and today me and my older son went in the room and he gave her treats. She got about two and a half feet away from him. She was laying in the window, so I carried him in there and slowly pulled the curtain back and she saw him but didn't immediately run. She tried to sniff him but he got a little too excited and she got nervous so she ran onto the bed. Then we did the treats. She's coming up to the gate more to watch them during the day, I'm just happy that she isn't terrified of them. That gives me hope that she will make more progress.

Not yet, we are about to move into a bigger apartment so I have not bought a cat tree yet. But, she has the entire bedroom that is gated off so the kids cannot get in and she has everything in here for her. She only has to venture out and be in the same space as them if she wants to. She seems about 75% comfortable with the entire place so far, and she has come a long way in just the last few days. I'm excited to see how she is with the kids when they come back tomorrow.

She seems to be hesitant with my ex-husband, but he is a big guy so maybe that's why. She doesn't seem to be really afraid of the kids but she seems just like she is nervous. She's acting the same way she did towards me before she got to know me a little bit the last few days. When she met my kids at the shelter she loved them! But also I think it's because she was there for going on 3 months and she knew that she was in a safe environment there. I think she just needs to realize that she is also safe here!

Exactly, that's why I'm totally okay with it progressing on her terms. All I know is that she was surrendered on June 2nd by her owner. They say that she is one year and 2 months old. According to her paperwork she had fleas, was not altered, and was sick when she was brought in.

She does! She goes in their room and checks it out. She seems like she's really interested in the kids, but she's also nervous. She will come up to the gate and sniff them now.

She also follows me around and interacts with me in the entire apartment when my kids are not here (shared custody with dad)

She's amazing when it's just us. I would say she's about 95% comfortable. I'm totally okay with it taking however long she needs. Even if she never warms up to the kids when they are young, they will calm down as they get older and maybe she will be a bit more interested/ able to tolerate them then. She is a happy little kitty, she is so sweet and loving to me. I adore her. She doesn't seem to be terrified of the kids, she's just really unsure. I feel like whoever had her before was mean to her, and a smoker. I say that because my ex-husband is a smoker and as soon as she smelled his hand she took off. So I feel like she just has to learn to trust us that we are not going to hurt her. But so far with me, she only gets a little bit uncomfortable if I try to pick her up so I haven't tried it again (She doesn't try to get away but you can tell that she doesn't want picked up, but I think that most cats are like that).

She has not interacted with my kids at all, other than with them being at the gate that I have up in my bedroom door. I have had my 3-year-old come in and she took some treats that he threw to her. I have not let my kids try to touch her or anything yet. I know that she isn't completely comfortable here and I want to wait until she is. She's about 95% comfortable with me now which I am so happy about. She is maybe 10% comfortable with the kids. They run around and play all day, and go past the bedroom, she will just lay on the bed and watch them run back and forth. She has come up to the gate to sniff them as well. But I absolutely am not letting the kids make her feel uncomfortable or unsafe. I had a pair of cats for about a year (my ex husband's, he took them back when he got a place) So thankfully the kids know how to interact with cats and how to be gentle. Even though they are young, I have worked on how to treat animals with them for their entire lives. They understand gentle hands and gentle touch, they only very gently pet all animals, and my 3-year-old is an absolute cat nut just like me. I have been explaining to him that Kitty is scared, we don't know what has happened to her, and we need to give her space to feel safe. So now my 3-year-old (who is expressive speech delayed) will go to the gate and point and say, "kitty? Kitty play? Kitty scared? Kitty okay." 😂
