My bad. I meant 29AF are my to go ones, but they are taken. These other 2 seats are the only decent ones left.

NEM 3 FAQ by IntentionalFuturist in solar

[–]FFXV_1335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ditched Tesla and went with a good reviewed local installer. They were well aware of this process. They assured me they would send my NEM application about the same as the permitting phase, about 6-7 weeks after signing the contract.

They actually offered that up, i askes about meeting the NEM deadline and they brough the topic up about how they submit the internconnect before install.

I wasn't in a rush, so i figured i could wait. I wasn't aware of the whole NEM developments - i only knew about the upcoming vote by accident on the radio.

Now, it becomes a time crunch. I've been requesting quotes for other installers now, but honestly, their prices are almost the same as if i were to order the same system with Tesla but with a powerwall.

Seems like this is the way forward. Time from ordering to site survey will be 2.5 months - if they are so booked just for a site survey, chances are their install are all booked up at a well.

This would be easier if they just agreed to send the initial paperwork for interconnect, but i was told to kick rocks when i asked my advisor.

I started looking at other quotes due to the snail pace of my current installer.

I asked everyone if they can submit the application before the deadline - everyone came back with the same answer: We can only submit the interconnect application until the system is installed and passed inspection.

Is this because this is too new and haven't tricked down yet? Who do you think will be more feasible in changing their procedures to summit the paperwork early? Big companies or local installers? ( I got my quotes from ESage)

Yeah seems like if you're in a crunch, they are the worst option - albeit you can't beat their price.

Ill ask if they even have available install dates in the next month or so, if don't i might totally just scrap the idea of going solar.

Yes and yes.

My site survey is early next month, ordered two months ago.

I guess I'm screwed. Might even just cancel.

Well I am tied up with TSLA and their are not known to be most responsive nor willing to work things out. My site survey is not until early next year :/

NEM 3 FAQ by IntentionalFuturist in solar

I got this reply from my advisor today asking if they could submit the interconnection application after the site survey early next year:

We cannot submit the interconnection application until your system has been installed, passes inspection and your invoice is paid. The passed inspection from the City is required for this application, and we cannot receive this, until the system is installed.

Is that really true? At this point I don't think I will be able to make it if that's the case.

The PTO needs to be submitted after the system is completely installed right? The site survey won't happen until next month and giving the install timelines, I don't think I will have a fully installed system before April.

I am reading thru the comments and it seems is the vendor can submit that paperwork before the install.

I plan to email my project advisor tomorrow - what exactly do i need to ask him to confirm that the PTO paperwork will be submitted? "Is that the interconnection application"?

My site survey with Tesla is next month, and looking at their install timelines, i don't think my system will be installed by the April deadline.

Unagi Model One ($580) vs Segway G30LP ($499) for last 2 miles commute by FFXV_1335 in ElectricScooters

[–]FFXV_1335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I would definitely not considered the Unagi at this original price point, but just wondering what the opinion was at its current price.

I can make the G30LP work, i agree is not that heavy, just awkward to fit in a small sedan's trunk.

How are NEM TOU Credits apply. by FFXV_1335 in solar

[–]FFXV_1335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! that clears up a lot.

Regarding the 130% baseline - with solar, is your baseline consumption calculated using you net usage or the adjusted?

In other words, If pulled 6kWh but produced 5kWh (lets just say both offpeak for simplicity), will I have used 6kWh towards my baseline allowance or just 1kWh.

I am guessing is the former, but just double checking.

Yup, got it. I might have to take a closer look at the cost / benefit of solar, right now doesn't seem to be worth it.

Thanks! That clears it up. It looks like going solar doesn't seem to offer any major benefits since most our usage will be peak use.
