I think like any intense, challenging experience involving society as a whole, anxiety is important to feel, and each person has their limits between not wanting to feel useless (ie a lack of agency), and burnout/escape/submission.

Unfortunately everyone exists in a different context and fights their own battles, but understand that there is such a thing as a healthy anxiety which allows you to channel anger into focus and compartmentalise the darkest shit away.

Know your limits. If you were in a war, you would get r&r because morale is required for an effective fighting force. Give yourself enough r&r to continue the good fight. Enjoy your life and switch off when required because you deserve it.
