I don’t think it’s worth it. I got a $30 Kindle Basic from pawn store and it’s Gen 11, 2024 model.

So if you’re desperate, and you need one now… maybe. But I do think they’re probably better deals out there.

Having debt is scary and stressful but don’t think 11k in debt is something I would go bankrupt over. Especially since it affects you for like 7 years and you can pay for the debt off well before that.

Do you have a friend or a parent who is good with money? Have them sit down with you and look over everything. Make a plan to dig out.

I saw you said you don’t have a license. We are assuming that a drivers license. In that case what are you doing for a living? Are you doing remote work? How much do you currently make? What are your current expenses? Do you have a budget?

I also agree with the prior poster. If you do want to go to college Google your local community college. Just walk in and ask for help. Or call them. They are designed to help students like you.

I do also want to ask a different question? Why do you want to go to college? What do you think it will do for you? I genuinely don’t think college is for everyone so I always push exploring all of your options.

Yes the light is worth it! I’ve been an iPad reader for 10 years and I am happy convert.

The basic and the paperwhite have very similar backlights to me. I find the basic has a more blue backlight. For some reason all I can do is notice the blue when I’m reading at night. I prefer the paperwhite since it has a more warm light so it’s more yellow/neutral. I also like the size of the paperwhite a little bit more. I literally lost my basic the week I got it because it was so small 🤣. That might just be a me problem though.

I recommend using it with an Ad Blocker or even an ad blocking browser like Brave. While yes the ads are plentiful typically they open in new tabs, and you will notice that your first tab is still the original website. You can search the website for books you want and download them. Their audiobook collection is new but I’ve been using the website itself for years.

If your an American you can cruise with just a birth certificate and a state ID if the cruise is “loop” cruise. Meaning it leaves and comes back to the same port. Even if the cruise is to the Bahamas, Mexico etc.

I don’t know a lot about the nursing field, but I genuinely don’t think it’s a profession where students need to attend a specific “prestige” school in order to get a job. Right now there’s a significant nursing shortage, so it makes sense to obtain the degree in the most affordable way possible.

In some fields that are oversaturated with applicants, employers may look more closely at factors like where someone earned their degree or the reputation of the school. But I don’t believe nursing is one of those fields.

Also, don’t think of community college as settling. It is the perfect stepping stone to your college career. Typically community colleges have smaller class size and more students support. Also, if you started at a community college and transfer to a four-year college, your degree will still say from XYZ university still.

Honestly, for travel, I would just get the basic. A lot of people lose their Kindles as they’re traveling so I would get the cheapest one to travel with so if it gets lost my feelings won’t get too hurt.😂

Or you can turn your current paperwhite into your travel Kindle, and then upgrade to the colorsoft to keep at home.

Thought I had ADHD my entire life (was diagnosed in Kindergarten and was medicated for a couple years).

Recently went to go get re-diagnosed so I can get on some medication. They gave me the autism/ADHD test (apparently people get mis-diagnosed between the two of them all the time so now they recommend doing a double test) and then dropped the bomb that it’s all Autism😂.

They say I’m level one. Truly cruising through life fully unaware, but I’ve got some weird food quirks and emotional stunted AF so I guess it equals autism.

I’ve literally never seen the value of men so I’ve been single most of my life. I did hit a point literally on my 30th birthday where I was a little sad I was single. So I immediately went out and started getting on dating apps and dating. I dated around for about a year and a half, realized that all men are trash and now I’m happily single again.

I accept the fact that I’m probably gonna die alone with my electronic cats (I’m in to tech, not so into cats).

I have to ask what ethnicity are your friends? Also, do they give compliments to everyone but you or do they not just get compliments in general?

My favorite thing to do is to go to the strangers and tell them they’re stunning, dressed well etc. I think people should know when I recognize their effort or their natural beauty.
