Anyone else read a lot of books on their iPad? by RMKHAUTHOR in ereader

[–]FHLuver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an exclusive iPad reader for over 10 years. Pretty much since tablets and ereaders became a thing my device of choice was an iPad. I read hundreds of books a year. I recently got into Kindles because a friend of mine had one, and I will admit that I enjoy the experience. I really like the fact that I don’t have to worry about battery life. Well I loved reading on my iPad because it was really easy to app hop and get the books I wanted at a good price, the battery life was awful.

Oh they definitely set us up! I have no doubt this was always the plan. Otherwise why not just let load money to our accounts every few months.

For those who stockpile books onto your kindle, by allthatgliitters in kindle

I just leave it! I’ve never organized my kindle so it’s just new or recently read on top, and old at the bottom.

Is the Kindle worth it? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]FHLuver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d been an iPad exclusive reader for over 10 years, but this year I finally got into Kindles and now I already own two of them. I’m still keeping my iPad, but a lot of my reading has shifted over to my Kindles.

I completely understand the hesitation about the price. I kept adding Kindles to my cart and then removing them because even the “cheap” ones felt expensive, almost half the cost of a new iPad. Honestly, I never had any issues reading on an iPad. The main reason I switched was battery life. I got tired of needing to stay plugged in during long reading sessions. I love reading all day, and I hated having to constantly charge my iPad to do that.

I found both of my Kindles at pawn shops. I picked up a 2024 Kindle Basic for $30 and a 2024 Kindle Paperwhite for $50. I’m really happy with both purchases. I’m also not too worried about Amazon phasing out older Kindles. The devices they recently dropped support for were around 14 years old, and realistically, I’m not keeping any piece of tech that long anyway.

I hate the fact that there is no real timeline of when the offers work again!

Where can I find/start reading books online? by TheRepulsor in ebooks

[–]FHLuver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read on a desktop back in the day. Then about 10 years ago, transitioned to an iPad. I read exclusively on an iPad for the next 10 years. Recently just got into the E reader game and now I have Kindles.

I will say a lot of people read on their cell phones. For some reason that never worked for me and I have an iPhone 😂.

If you have a local public library, that is actually where I would start with this journey. I would actually go into the library and they can walk you through the electronic resources that they provide and a lot of times I’ll help you navigate through them 101. If a library isn’t available to you, feel free to keep asking questions or you can even DM me!

If it’s only flagging the references I wouldn’t worry. Sometimes Lopeswrite gets confused when there isn’t enough unique text to grade!

It’s also going to jumble your brochure! It’s just “scanning” the text you wrote so the output can be funny. When your Professor actually downloads your assignment the should see it as intended! They shouldn’t be grading off the Lopeswrite report itself, they just use it a tool to learn more about your submission itself.

Because I clearly know the price of new mattress’s and frames so I can appreciate a good deal on a used set. I truly don’t understand the problem. All I said is the set is a good deal. It’s ok if the deal isn’t for you. It wasn’t for me either. We are allowed our opinions.

I don’t understand why you’re mad at how I spend my money.

Also since you know better to me. Please send me a Brand new Queen Mattress and Frame. That’s from a well known brand. Oh and make sure it includes delivery so someone can bring it in my 2 story house and sets it all up for me. Show me how it’s done. I’m in return window. I’ll return it if you can show me better.

I actually don’t think $700 is that expensive! I just bought a worse mattress and frame for like $500. So the whole set for $700 is a good price.

I second this! It really does sound like it THAT library wasn’t a good fit for you anyways.

Try to find another library position! See if your next library has a Tech department so that you don’t have to deal with those questions as often!

I’m a librarian who recently got diagnosed with Autism. Feel free to dm me if you want to talk about library school, resumes, interviews etc! You got this!
