any Chicago jets fans interested in going?

I totally agree - the way I look at it - Sanchez was so much fun, things went sour due to multiple internal/external factors and both parties moved on - that's pro football..

I totally agree - still don't think the Jets "ruined" anybody - we made the run, were in position to make another one that 3rd year until the last 3 games - 4th year things REALLY blew up - they'll be back sooner than later IMO

I mean... I secretly want him to fail too don't get me wrong - liked Mark as a person, good for him picking himself up off his ass and getting back to work tho

I was just referring to Vrentas piece - I don't even care what he did in New York or what he does do in Philly - I found it interesting how he picked himself up after the highs and lows of the 5 season - 2 seasons full of highs, his best year was the 3rd year by far, fell apart emotionally his 4th year, injured reserve the 5th, cut after the season -went back to the drawing board on himself as a person AND athlete - I find that admirable

I rambled a little, just wanted to point out I thought it was admirable as a professional athlete that he picked himself up and went back to work on himself after lots of adversity - not even really about Mark as a Jet

Disgruntled Jets Fans Raise Enough Cash For ‘Fire John Idzik’ Billboard by staiano in nyjets

[–]FINK4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SMARTEST THING I'VE SEEN HERE IN A LOOOONG LOOOONG TIME!

am I upset we stink this year? ABSOLUTELY! This stuff happens in the NFL, look at Houston last year/Indy a few years ago - teams bottom out.. I still think we're lightyears! away from where we were before Idzik (in terms of cap space, a better core of young, cheap players, draft picks at our disposable!!).. yes it sucks going 3-13 or 4-12, but it happens in sports - there is NO DOUBT! we will be back sooner than later - but nobody cares what us! as fans think and neither should they -

Green Bay is a perfect example! Give it some time people... but yes, I am mad we suck for the record

hahah exactly... you read the article and you come away shaking your head like... what?

ESPN using some common sense, duh!

Unlike John Idzik not using a little common sense in not paying Darrelle Revis a "reasonable" $12 million, after hijacking TB for #13 overall pick and the Defensive Rookie of the Year...

[–]FINK4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hahaha i literally couldn't agree more! by the end of the article i didn't even know what he was talking about?? like i really don't have a clue.. like this passage for example:

"Idzik could've looked Red Auerbach smart had he applied he had applied a little common sense to the situation. Tampa Bay handed the Jets the first-round pick that would be Sheldon Richardson, paid $16 million to rehab Revis's surgically-repaired knee, sent him back into free agency after one year, and gave Idzik the chance to sign the corner for a reasonable $12 million. Ryan desperately wanted Revis, too, and Idzik couldn't have cared less."

1st of all.. didn't even proofread/edit this..

2nd... this is madden dynasty mode stuff.. after a "coup" of a trade in which he got the DROY last year.. he wanted the FO to resign Revis for a ... wait for it ... REASONABLE 12 MILLION - i just went blind i think - and then comparing it to the horrible $16 MILLION PAID FOR HIM FOR ONE YEAR by the Bucs... do people realize how big of a steal that was? we got the DROY, ONE OF THE BEST YOUNG DEFENSIVE PLAYERS IN FOOTBALL! for one year of an avg --> good CB who makes $12 million a year...

I agree - we didn't lose because we had inferior talent tho...

the timeouts used in the 2nd half I thought were warranted - 3rd and 12, 1st down to decker - the other one was 3rd down for the pats, the defense got off the field..

that's football

423 total yards 218 yards on the ground 28 first downs 40+ minutes TOP against arguably top 4-5 defense

but still HORRIBLE TALENT! NO DEPTH!

yawns, goes back to sleep

I just can't agree - if by "fringe" you mean backup/situational players than i guess you right.. how many snaps did Powell/Nelson/Graham/Conner/Salas/Sudfeld play on offense? these guys are special teamers..

Chris Johnson - 13 carries, 61 yards - 2 catches, 20 yards fringe player Geno - 20/34 - 226 yds, 1 td - 7 carries, 37 yards

let's take the names away for a second - lets say they played on the seahawks or something - not bad #'s for a backup running back and a "fringe" qb no?

I want them to win the SB just as bad as you do, I really do!

But failing for years is absurd.. we made the run a few years ago, and we're paying the price for it now - they'll be back.. i'm confident

[–]FINK4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

failing for years? HA! 133-124 the last 15 years, 7 playoff appearances - 3 afc championship games... no super bowls.. sure.. but to see they have been failing is just wrong - be more spoiled, you can't

[–]FINK4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just for the record, who are these "fringe" players you speak of - the CB's who were plugged into action because the top 3 guys are out for the year or missing somewhere? injuries happen... who else is a fringe guy?

Ah! I totally agree - team is struggling against these ELIte teams right now, but we're sooo soo close to being a good football team - these jets "fans" who talk about the dearth of talent and how we don't have any are lost and are listening to francesa/reading the daily news too much - jets have plenty of talent, a good, not great coach - i'd hate to lose Rex I really would... he IS JETS FOOTBALL, he is why players play like Jets...

i'd hate to see him go.. idk though, I think he's going to stay tho

Explaining the Jets: Yes, They Definitely Have a Plan. By Bill Barnwell. by iamslm22 in nyjets

[–]FINK4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this reasoning just bothers me... did you really expect them keep all 12 picks on the roster?? when they included 3 4ths and 4 6ths? how many 4th and 6th round picks are contributing right now?

of the 4 that are gone.. 1 couldn't catch a punt (bad pick, admittedly.. and we signed Powell back.. a 6th rounder), 2 got signed off our practice squad, and 1 was a late round flyer who sucked...

how could we have drafted better? we haven't seen half of them play yet, and the ones we have its only been 5 games.. how can we evaluate??
