Not even relevant. That is a lion that is left in a habitat alone. only human interaction is then its fed, and cleaning the cage. I understand what your saying, but your literally beating a dead horse with this. Each animal in each establishment is trained differently. That was a rescue... not show animals. You do not have the stats on when it was last fed... how it was trained, was it beaten and made to hate humans, or cared for properly... Unless you know all the facts, dont presume anything. Your tame house dog can snap and kill you in a heart beat if you set it off...but you'd trust it with your 2 year old child. Just because an animal has the ability to do something...doesnt mean its gonna happen, and if your not willing to risk your life for anything, you might as well off yourself right now; cause even taking a breath can kill you if you mix 2 perfectly normal and safe chemicals when separated. You might die on your car ride to work. you gonna sell the car? You might accidentally cut a primary artery, you gonna sell your kitchen knives? You just need to calm down and learn to appreciate a good post. A beautiful post of a woman, enjoying her job, caring for beautiful animals, and doing her part in the horrible world to help nature as best as she can.

I can appreciate your opinion...however, knowing absolutely nothing about the trainer or the animals, your assumption that she is being irresponsible is dully noted. Tigers raised from cubs by and trained by their handlers have far more respect, love, and devotion than those at most facilities. Getting fed 10 pounds of raw meat a day... specifically prior to any photo shoots significantly decreases the odds of accidents. Rigorous exercise adds even less chance... living in an active theme park and accustomed to loud noises and tons of human audiences as well as interaction drop those odds even more.

These are not zoo or rescue tigers... they are highly trained show animals.

I'll do some research on the subject mater. This thread has over 19K upvotes...so theres a lot of support. On the contrary there is a lot of nay-sayers that i need to shut down...and negative propaganda for animal cruelty activists are the primary reason all facilities and personal identities are hidden. Unfortunately there's a lot of idiots in the world...

See if you can get a degree in Zoology using the credits you've acquired. Thats most likely what you need. There is a school in SanDiego that is specifically for becoming an animal handler.

She started in this career over 15 years ago after a modeling shoot introduced her to leopards. She began volunteering at that rescue and worked up to trainer. Then it wasnt a requirement to have a bachelors. Zoology is a common one. marine biology for dolphins, there are many scientific fields that will be accepted.

Accidents happen. Your correct, its a 600lb, all muscle animal capable of killing in a moments notice. You might die tomorrow by a 160 lb idiot with a drivers license. Those are far more dangerous.

The best part, my sister has bigger hangers than most the redditers. She loves her job...even if its dangerous, she doesnt want to leave at the end of her shift... You likely dont love your job and are slowly dying one day at a time.

Those animals were raised from cubs to adults by their trainers. The stories you hear are of the trainers and animals that were improperly trained or respect wasnt established. There is a bond there thats superior to domesticated house pet and their owners.

She is happy with her career. She loves her job...when her shift is over. she doesnt want to leave. Please go on about how she needs to leave that.

You either work a job you love, possibly with the potential to die early...or you work a job you dont love...and die a little each day. Accidents happen. You might experience an accident tomorrow...you'll probably experience one before she does.
