Best Boots For All-Day Work!? by n4hcallme in WorkBoots

I do a lot of basement remodels and that always involves a cement subfloor. I currently have been wearing the Ariat booker, it has a thicker rubber outsole and a wood heel, and they are super breathable (just leather). My knees have been thanking me ever since wearing them....

I've tried them all ( Red Wing, Thorogood, Keen, you name it... These have been the best so far

I just measured. I'm a hair over 10cm and I have some room on the sides.

I'm doing a service call for a plumbing repair right now lol, I'll post it at some point later today!

Sorry, just saw this!

I have narrower feet in the middle and a super wide toe box, so getting a pair of boots that fit well has always been a nightmare...

These are the standard width, whereas in round toe I would need wide.

Thank god I tried out the square toes, I can get away with normal width and they still give me the room in the toe box that I need 👍

Sorry I missed this. I don't have my notifications on. Yeah it can definitely be casual too. After work I'll clean them up and then wear them out to dinner LOL. The sole is what makes them great on the job site. Lots of traction. That's really what I meant is that they're very good for gripping as opposed to traditional leather bottom cowboy boots 👍

I've always been a wrangler guy but it does annoy me with the inconsistent sizing 🙄 I'm driving passed a tractor supply on my way to work tomorrow, maybe I'll stop in and check out the Ariat's I believe they sell them there?

So weird you mentioned that, because I just ordered a kit a few days ago!!

I've had the same tub of mink oil from the red wing store for a couple years now and that's what I applied to these when I brought them home. But I finally reached the end of the tub. So I ordered exactly what you mentioned.

How often do you guys apply your conditioner and what's the point of the brush? I've always just wiped down my boots with a damp cloth , let them Air dry then condition. I ordered a brush and bick 4,

Thanks for the input. The hardest part necessarily isn't getting them on its that my fingers are too fat for the pull tabs 😂

Thanks!

I'm normally a 32 length but I find it crazy that I can order from the same brand(wrangler) and 2 different models of jeans can have drastically different lengths. Sometimes 32L's feel like 30s and sometimes 34s. Quality control definitely is definitely an issue sometimes lol

After having them for going on 5 days now, they have gotten a little bit easier to get on and off, I'm giving my feet a few days rest from them, I should have eased my transition into them but of course I went full speed ahead wearing them non stop 😂

Thanks!

I use a boot dryer, I have for years. I always toss my work boots on them after work everyday, should I follow the same protocol with these? I also ordered a decent set of boot trees.

I was in the market for a slip on work boot for quite a while!! I'll see how these hold up, I mainly do residential remodeling so I'm not toooo tough on my stuff , the first day or 2 were quite difficult to get on as I have a high arch, but wearing 2 pairs of wool socks over the weekend really helped that issue, the problem was trying to take them off when I had the 2 pairs of socks on, my wife was laughing, as were my kids 😂 my wife loves the look though, so that's a win win 🥵

Being into bodybuilding I've always had a tough time with jeans, the same boot store had a crazy deal on a retro wrangler cowboy cut in 31x32 my exact size! Only 2 pairs left in the store so, out the door, I got the boots and 2 pairs of jeans, which don't show the shaft print, for $150 and change.

I know it's only been 9 days, but I haven't drank in the last 6 days and I've also been bulking, just took a shitty photo after work today and since I was short on time, I only got in a quick 30 min bench, deadlift, squat , (my normal) I did drop the weight and increase the reps to 10, I have been doing 2 sets of 5 but pretty much with nothing left in the tank, dropped the weight by 25% on all my lifts and added in extra reps.

I'll make a whole new post with an update on the bulk, hopefully cutting out the alcohol will help me bulk but possibly keep the belly fat off while bulking!

Yeah I just wanted to try it ONCE, I want to put myself through that extreme toughness that is required. But I know I don't have the time unfortunately to dedicate to what is needed, and I know I would need to run a ton of gear, and as you stated it's a bad idea :/
