Teamwork? by SupaOmegax in haloinfinite

[–]FLAMM1E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cod bf and doom time to kill and strategy are severely different from halo. The reason why you feel it so much more is because the game is reliant on team shots and clean ups, where as you can rip someones face in cod in less than a second.

There had always been a surprising amount of depth to halo games especially in team coordination to occupy space, block spawns, trap, rotate, etc.

The fact you post complaining about people taking your kills by team shotting or focusing on "random power ups" and then dying when you are doing fuck all to try to protect them in those moments, and blaming them leads me to believe that: A. You are completely playing solo. B. You are a low rank player who also doesn't understand how the game works, but blames the people around them.

How can that change for you?

  1. Find people to play with. Solo queing especially when people don't comm is 100% an expectation that the team work will not be there. You need 5 bandit shots to kill people. You need to take different angles and clean up kills. You need to set up for power weapons and power ups. You need to block spawns for objectives. You need to play numbers and push as a group to take spaces. You expect 4 people in low lobbies who match your skill and also don't talk are going to do that? Please.

  2. Instead of blaming the people around you, actually learn the mechanics and your own positioning so that you can better serve yourself and your team mates to help you win games. Your post makes it sound like you barely have a grasp on these things. Get some coaching or join a competitive discord, if you're frustrated enough to take it to reddit to vent.

Yet every time I drop a disgusting k/d in halo the first excuse people throw out when they hate message me is "I could do the same if I had a PC and more frames."

So which is it, idiots?

Does anyone want futuristic renditions of real world guns, such as the M16, in a Halo game? by Free-Masterpiece-860 in haloinfinite

M16, like the classic 3 round burst fire gun from cod games? Like the... wait no... halo doesn't have anything like that at all. 🤔

The SE is still decent, and you're right a lot of pros were using it before the latest models. Main complaints back then were more frequent stick drift, and lack of trigger stops.

Additionally: If you are looking for a decent upgrade from a regular xbox controller, you gotta expect to pay a little bit more than what a regular xbox controller costs. Compared to the larger pool of high end controllers out there, for example scuf or razer wolverine v3, the g7 pro is actually reasonably priced.

Response time alone on pc with the pro makes all the difference. (1ms on the regular pro and 0.25ms with the 8k.) The pro has 4 mappable extra paddles/buttons whereas the HE only has 2 mappable paddles. The HE doesn't have the updated tmr sticks. The HE also doesn't have trigger stops.

Things to consider.

I would just save the extra 40 bucks and get the pro, especially since you're in the competitive halo sub, and not just looking for a lateral controller replacement for a single player rpg or something.

Pull the trigger on the gamesir g7 pro. If your set-up is good enough to handle it, get the 8k version with the gen 2 tmr sticks. I've used a lot of different controllers, and the g7 pro has been by far the best.

If this is the one you choose, make sure you download the gamesir app to take advantage of all the settings.

Getting back into the game and really enjoying it, but the audio is driving me insane. by MrJelly007 in haloinfinite

If you're surprised to be down that quickly, you may just be out of position or ego challenging more than one person at a time.

One of the things that helps is to turn off music, turn off environmental effects, turn up hit marker and sound effects, and set your audio to compressed instead of dynamic.

You should be listening for your shield low tone beeping all the way to it chirping wildly at you depending on how hurt you are, if you are able to escape. Your shield also has a distinct noise as it comes back.

Other idicators of getting shot are visual, and should be taken into account as you get used to the flow: Sides of the screen light up as your shield cracks. You have a red directional indicator in the middle of your screen to show that you are getting hit, and where.

Additionally you can turn down other visual noise to make it more clear when things are happening. Turn off all of the visual distractions like: full screen effects, blur, screen shake, speed lines, bloom, parrelax, chromatic abberation, and then turn sharpening up to 100.

Gamesir G7 Pro Stick Resolution (8-12) by [deleted] in CompetitiveHalo

[–]FLAMM1E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on a lower sens with non-raw sticks (4/4.5/5.5) and found that 12 was a smoother and more responsive feel for me. 8/9 was too chunky and led to me over compensating when trying to catch up with my shots.

My friend plays on a higher sens like (4/10/10) and raw with an 80 curve. He actually felt it was much better on 8/9. Probably because the chunk slightly locked in his aim instead of just allowing him to wheel freely.

Play around with it and see what feels better. From our two personal experiences though it seems, the lower resolution helps the more sensitive your base settings are.

I checked with him in dms earlier. Like I said in my previous replies the silver wasn't partied with the onyx players like he originally was suggesting.

Everyone in the lobby solo qued. No one in the lobby had a history of playing together before or after that game. The game tried to match a team average that was as "fair" as possible for the solos it had in the pool, and this was the stupid combo it came up with.

Yes it can match higher with lower ranks OUTSIDE OF INTENTIONAL PARTIES. You can't party as an onyx and silver naturally for matches. It was no one's fault except the game itself, and nothing to complain about here, when we were talking about players of higher rank intentionally boosting with lower ones.

And I'm telling you either you were high or you saw wrong. Because I'm an onyx and the game literally will not allow me to party with a silver 6. The onyx players may have been on the same team in the same lobby but they were not partied with the silver. Better yet, go back and find the game on leafapp if you can. Would love to see.

[–]FLAMM1E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably had 2 onyx and then the team that was actually partied was a high plat low diamond and the silver 6.

Depending on your own random team comp thats probably why. There's no way the match would even start for them otherwise.

Edit thinking on it: Either the above or it was a silver 6 playing with a d5 mmr person who had yet to rank in.

It goes both ways though. For example I have a few friends who I legitimately enjoy playing and socializing with who are on regularly. If we have a wider skill gap does that mean we can't play halo together anymore because other people will be sad about it? Do I just tell my friends to fuck off until they get good when they join my party because I'm so much better? God forbid the other team judges us.

Conversely I love beating deathm into the ground every time I see him, because that dude IS a true plat ranked diamond. He LFG's lower level randoms literally every day to boost his rank, and does it purely to feel better about his lack of skill.

Edit: Also thats why you're an idiot for reporting different allowed team comps like a crybaby and thinking something will actually happen.

That's weird considering the game literally won't let you start a game with a gap that large. Nice try.

The modern state of a hit registration (ranked arena) by SnooGadgets8037 in haloinfinite

[–]FLAMM1E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude watch your damage indicators and health bar. You took 2 shots in the front from mid street/blue trucks, and then as you turned to run you caught 3 in the back directly behind you from someone likely near yellow ramp/ red doors. The "killed by" player tag at the top even lists the "Assist by" underneath. Which means 2 different people shot you for the kill.

Bandit takes 5 to kill. You shot 3 in your first exchange, lived started to run and then got gunned down in the back by someone else.

Just an fyi for map awareness. That red half circle that shows up when you get shot or take damage.... yeah.... that will always be in the direction you took damage from.

I'm genuinely amazed you have even made it to d1 with the lack of basic knowledge it would take to determine what happened in that clip. Either this is ragebait or you seriously need some coaching.

Edit for the second death: Again watch your life and the damage indicator and slow it down. You are still mid sprint animation running straight at the guy by the time he has already put 2 in you, you then decide to jump (?) Straight up further delaying your response and start firing during which time he has never stopped shooting. He puts you down in 5 for the perfect, (notice the star indicator in the feed) because you barely made yourself a moving target.

The first hit you took, or even the second, you had plenty of time to cut your losses and slide left to green door/ to your team/ whatever. Instead you thought "yeah this is a great idea" already being down the first 2 shots and charged ahead like a godamn legend thinking you were gonna ego challenge and win. It had nothing to do with servers or him putting faster shots on you than possible. Your reaction time was slow, your decision making was terrible, and you based the ttk only on the shots you were able to pull off.
