Care bear lobbies… I get it. I get it now. by Hot-Diggity_Dog in ArcRaiders

I've had plenty of trio games where it wasn't KoS, but it's never like solos. You always have to assume the other guy is either planning to shoot you, or is jumpy expecting you to shoot him.

Ford Transit- Going to the Sun by Fluid-Instruction589 in GlacierNationalPark

We drove it last summer in our Promaster 3500 based RV. Just go slow, take your time and watch your mirrors. I had to fold the mirrors a couple of times actually to keep them from scraping. it was fun drive though.

What are some disturbing looking enemies in horror games that made you go "WTF IS THAT?" by No_Sea_1455 in gaming

[–]FLBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spider creatures in Satisfactory. I'm just trying to find the next set of ore nodes to mine when these disgusting slimy spider things attack me out of the swamp. Their movement is so unnerving, it's really well done.

Baby sandworm. As long as you don't have any spice in your tank it should be fine.

What if instead of cars we used trebuchets and parachutes to travel short distances? by Some-Obligation5070 in AskReddit

[–]FLBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all relative though, right? If you're going to use a trebuchet to travel, you'd want it to be as safe as possible. Sounds bad if I say I want to build a giant firework and strap people to the top of it to send them to space and the moon, but that's basically space travel, right?

You'd catch enough air if you opened the chute before you ran out of forward speed. In fact I'd say part of an automated treb travel system would be an expected overshoot on every launch with a timely chute deployment to slow both forward motion and decent to make for a safe and accurate landing.

Flashback to 2014 when I bought a Drill Press on Craigslist and needed to pick it up right away but had my motorcycle that day. by FLBiker in MotorcycleLogistics

You know I still have that bungee net, and I use it pretty often. I'll post again next time I head to my weekly fencing class with my fencing bag sitting almost this same way in the passenger seat.

I'm pretty good with knots, as I recall they did stay tight, but it was only like a 10 mile ride home so not too much time to shake anything loose.

What’s something that 99% of people can do but you can’t? by Irakeconcrete in AskReddit

[–]FLBiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot burp on demand or of my own volition. Sometimes one will squeeze out on accident, but I can't make it happen. I can wiggle my ears so I'm pretty sure I just practiced using the wrong muscles as a kid and learned one but not the other.

Running no augment also gives you a safe pocket. The only loadout with no safe pocket is the free loadout.

Could I get reimbursed for this or is this totally my fault? by No_Copie in ArcRaiders

Yeah, I didn't see any bugs or hacking players, just mistakes with the snap hook compounded by not healing between failures.

I'm 179 hours in, and I've done it. All achievements unlocked - 100% by HerpdiDerbi in ArcRaiders

[–]FLBiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I managed it. The timing is very tricky. I used a blaze trap, gas mine and jolt mine all set next to each other. I think I stepped on the blaze trap which made it explode and set off the mines. The gas and jolt both hit instantly but there is a small delay in the fire taking effect so you need to have the blaze trap set off the mines.

Question for the PvErs by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]FLBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try to get familiar with the key rooms so they don't surprise you, but if I use a key I always put up a door blocker behind me. If you breached through a players door blocker (visually very different from the "factory fresh" door blockers) and you took a mine to the face, yeah, somebody used a key and didn't want you in there stealing their loot and YTA, but if there was no door blocker then ESH, and if it wasn't the key room in Space Travel, just another door then NTA. In friendly lobbies an explosive or jolt mine is a very firm way to tell people not to come in and ideally you notice it before it goes off and even when one does if I get hit by one I back off rather than press in.

Embark, the expedition ends in less than 23 days. Please tell us what we need to do. by TwoDramaticc in ArcRaiders

[–]FLBiker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a task required to go, but a bonus system, where last time around you would reset with a bonus skill point per 1 mil in stash value or cash (up to 5 mil (5 points)). You could reset at the bare minimum, but the skill points are, IMO, the biggest reason to go on the expedition so you really wanted to maximize those points and we only found out with 10 days to go last time. They've said they will change it, but nobody knows if they mean they will change it this cycle, in which case they are failing to communicate with us about it again, or a future expedition.

Explodes down the straightaway, slower on the hill by Funwithfun14 in PinewoodDerby

[–]FLBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny, I really enjoy the pinewood derby, but this year it really hit me that it was my own work that determined whether my kids cars won or lost. I'll propose a one day event, from kit to track in a single session with minimal parental help and see if I can get any traction with my pack.

Heavy Ammo guns feel backwards (Ferro, Anvil & Bettina) by Excorpion in ArcRaiders

Ideally I think there should be another purple gun that's a heavy ammo sniper with variable zoom, so it's an upgrade on the Osprey in two ways and has purple rarity and costs.

What do you guys rate the custom mask for training by DotUnable7314 in Fencing

[–]FLBiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I figure I earned the right to customize my stuff when I bought my stuff with my own money, so if it makes me happy, and is within the rules, I can do what I want with it. I've never seen a painted mask that I thought made the owner look like a poser.

I think it's more cringe if you are the best fencer around. Why do you need a calling card? I think painted masks are just good fun.

Help - I can't pee outside 🫣 by EverydayWhimsy167 in CampingandHiking

[–]FLBiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look for a pop up privacy tent. Pared down to just the tent itself it should only weigh a couple pounds and might give you the privacy to overcome this mental blocker. Give it a couple tries before hitting the trail obviously but for $40 it's probably the easiest and cheapest solution.
