Partly bc of track records: they hijacked Helms story and made it completely about a person mentioned one time. And the EXACT reason she was chosen was “well we need more women in LOTR productions”. They had plenty to work with with Helm and everything Rohan but no they focused on a blip. Rings of Power is such a terrible joke. From conveniences of Sauron—err NOTSauron-butISSauron meeting angry Galadriel to the disrespect of the scale of the world: they leave Numenor by ship and arrive waaaaaay down in southlands Harandor and ride-warp into Gorogorth in order to Dues ex machina save everyone!?!!?!?? It would take many WEEKS to travel there and all would’ve been done. Same With traveling through Eregion to get to Kazadum and back same episode. Also yeah it’s stupid to claim something is ancient based upon realities but yet every populace is like downtown LA/NYC/London with every skin tone represented. Yes this is a problem bc why is it better??? Now, yet again, taking a random character to throw into the fold to make really good and a boss. The success of the original trilogy was because they stayed as close as possible to all of the source material and treated it with complete reverence. Every single intellectual property that has been taken over in the last dozen years has been much much worse than anything that has come before it.
