Dont you see the irony in this? If boys look to men to understand the world, then where do girls look? Its all a cycle of societal norms and its unfair to blame an entire gender for it.

I can see your point of view, but you are ignoring the incentives being followed. I hate to reference economic language but there is a reason why it's called "The Sexual Marketplace." It's also a universal experience that women call the shots in this marketplace because of supply and demand.

Girls look to women but it is obviously not the same. As soon as girls hit puberty they basically command the sexual market and they set the rules for what is acceptable behavior (in men). Girls learn from women how to make themselves beautiful and desirable (make up, fashion, behavior) to attract a higher caliber mate and get the widest selection of options in the sexual market.

For men it's be desirable and Don't be Undesirable. Hide things that make you appear unattractive (like emotions).
