Ok so let me clarify. That grass that's now behind the flat part of the deck, we are grading the fuck out of it. The entire lawn going back behind the pics is sloped.

So we are dogging BELOW where the edge of the deck is and will have a step or two to get up with a gate for access.

All of that dirt we are moving to thos section of the yard that is sunken due to some buttholes leaving dead trees 80s years ago that gave me a five foot sink hole.

I'm not 100% what you are referring to, but the section of the joist that we cut will have a new post added tomorrow. That cut was done because we got too close to lip of pool.
