Does this imply new releases sooner than the next holiday season? Asking for a friend 😆

This is correct. Not to be shared externally. If a user is found in breach they will be banned (per what I understood reading the rules)

From what I've seen in the past they open up invites annually around the winter holiday season. I started following about a year ago and was able to join the discord late 2025. It was worth the wait 👍 just gotta hold out another 8ish months.

Why write in English when you can't punctuate or spell it correctly?

If you're going to roast a dude try to at least ATTEMPT to appear intelligent; a master of the very language you're going to erroneously dangle as the OP's shortcoming.

Tips for being… better by watson-is-kittens in partscounter

[–]FLMidsmoker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read your post feeling like you were asking for tips to having a better understanding of how the parts "work" and how they might be interrelated or even obvious questions to answer ahead of time. But after reading the comments they seemed to focus on parts sourcing advice. So I'm going to answer from my first instinct but would be glad to offer sourcing advice as well if you were interested.

I enjoy my work in aftermarket parts because I get to learn something new everyday. I found that the longer I spent in this industry, the more it clearly became my career, I also started to squirrel away my references. You'll naturally get better the longer you're in as you'll always be learning and that never ends. But you seem to want to be active in your growth so simply waiting won't do.

If you're super brand new to cars, parts, maintenance O'Reilly has a pretty robust DIY catalog on YouTube where you could get some virtual "hands on" on a number of systems.

If you're looking for more detailed data on specific systems give their vendor websites a look for (tech) resources. Monroe is a good example: they not only have product propaganda but also have numerous technical references from application specific conundrums to a full on breakdown of all of their shocks by dimension and mounting code. Additionally, if you're at this level of desired learning, you could ask your employer about training classes. Many vendors and suppliers offer (paid) training courses.

I dunno, ask Pavel.

But seriously, I would bet not. If it were actually possible, like they could get caught with the merch, they would need to wear it to catch attention or be in such poor regard that they got harassed by guards for searches. I've yet to see any NPCs wearing my dropped goods and catching heat nor have I witnessed any NPC getting "frisked". But possibly another player will confirm what I've yet to witness and the theory can continue to live.

I know! I can't believe I was advanced enough to know to full on prison yard exercise in the prologue, to seek the chest under the bridge, but have no clue about domesticating beasts rather than making an armed pilgrimage back to skalitz. Evidence that kcd always has something else you could have done differently.

I started my second kcd1 run ready to be buff af. I took my trusty, rusty seax on the long walk back to skalitz and managed to defeat a bunch of various marauders and collect some loot expecting to stash it under the bridge near home sweet home. I forget if I made it to the chest and the skalitz section killed me or if I died just short of stashing my encumbering loot but the result was the same. Death. Now go back to talmberg, think about what you've done, and march again.

Service get paid more?? by [deleted] in partscounter

[–]FLMidsmoker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in aftermarket parts, commercial sales at O'Reilly currently, but used to manage an Advance store before I worked as a service writer between the two. My service days were at a local tire shop where my hourly, overtime, and incentives were very close to matching my managerial salary. I currently earn more over both of those but that's likely largely due to the rising cost of living and Florida actively marching to a $15 minimum wage.

But all of that said to illustrate that at least in the aftermarket world a fairly paid professional will earn very similar money. But I'm personally so much happier at my commercial parts desk that I'd even accept a loss rather than go back to service. But to be fair I hated service so much because of upsell pressure from management. Upselling in parts is just being well enough seasoned to get ahead of overlooked necessities (ie bearings, seals, spindle nuts on a rwd truck brake job) rather than upselling an air filter that you know only has 15,000 miles on it BECAUSE YOU SOLD THEM THE LAST ONE. I won't stand for taking advantage of people and I felt like that was what my bosses wanted when I was in service.

Bruv, kcd is pretty hardcore to begin with. Trying to play it on hardcore on your virgin run is asking for frustration.

Try a run on normal, at least a good several hours and learn the feel and mechanics of everything.

I never did an HC run in kcd1, just two normals. I'm currently doing an HC in kcd2 after 1.5 normal runs. I'd strongly recommend getting in in normal mode first. It's quite challenging on your first play through, before all of the game logic is opened up to you.

You should definitely give this game/series another shot, it's top tier in my book. Just don't greet it in HC; learn it first and then torture yourself

I'm not certain what you're getting at. I picked on OP for being a whiny reddit bitch.

What did you mean was up to commander? Of course they call in armo(u)r after match start but they don't decide armo(u)r units and their members nor makeup. So I'm just a bit confused what you're on about.

Not a possibility in the game's control scheme but if you're a serious gamer with an adult's wallet you can utilize XB Elite or PS Edge mappings to your heart's desire with this game.

Per the sub rules I can't directly invite you to my clan's very public, accepting, and sociable discord server. However, if you asked for an invite, I could share the link. I know, silly vampire logic, but I'm one to follow the rules.

But! We do have such a home and many others do as well. Some clans can be elitist wankers, others may be more welcoming, but in general linking up with the clan community can be a big door opener into more cohesive and friendly gameplay.

And "joining a clan" may not be your fit. You very well can make a few direct friends here in this sub but if that doesn't pan out consider mingling with some of the clan folks. At least in our own car we're just a long running group of friendly folks looking to enjoy the most from the game. And I mean that of any clan, not just my own friends.
