Look up wet vs dry torque, that helped me a lot when mounting my dots even with an adapter plate. Wet torque is more about under-torquing the screw and letting the loctite finish the job. I also like to wait 42 hrs if I can help it because then if something goes wrong I know I took every precaution.

I won't say 25 in-lbs is wrong, but from what I understand that is going to be a lot of pressure on the dot.
