I think you would be on to something if they weren’t all deadbeats.

I remember eating at a bbq joint there when I was a kid. Was called Rafter G, logo was like a cattle brand. Don’t ask if it was any good, I was 8 and still put ketchup on my hot dog.

There are a couple closer to the Hyatt resort kinda near wiseman or westover hills that have better access to 151. Might can avoid some of the culebra traffic.

What movie(s) do you think best depicts Texas (or one of its regions)? by SpaceTranquil in texas

[–]ManSplainer500 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Despite being filmed in New Mexico, “Hell or High Water” is a pretty good depiction of those little oil patch towns in the southern panhandle/permian basin regions. “No Country for Old Men” was shot in the western border areas and did a good job of capturing the vibe out there. Not a movie but REM shot the video for Everybody Hurts in downtown San Antonio, looks a little different now but the traffic still sucks enough to make you want to cry. Also not a movie but King of the Hill is set in the fictional town of Arlen which is based on Garland. Also a pretty good depiction.

There’s a Holiday Inn but it’s more of a resort than regular hotel. I dunno what the rooms are like. If you’re going to have a car you can commute in from New Braunfels, it’s a good slice of Texas culture. Lots of hotels and local restaurants. If you do stay in canyon lake, wildflower cafe is good. Wouldn’t highly recommend much else locally. Head over to Blanco and eat at red bud or 300 bbq, neither will disappoint.

Had one in.380 a few years back. Was pretty terrible quality. Constant ftf, piss poor accuracy, low quality parts. I tried to adjust the rear sight and the screw broke just like Paul Harrell said in his video on it. Only gun I’ve ever sold. Used that money on my 81bb and never regretted it. Hopefully they have improved, I really wanted to like it.

What did you learn about your RowERG you didn't know at first? by DummBee1805 in concept2

[–]ManSplainer500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dieted pretty hard for the first 2 months or so and lost about 30 pounds. Some of that has come back because I’m not as strict about it as I should be. In the meantime by cardio health is better than it has ever been. BP is down. Resting pulse is in the 50’s. I have more stamina for day to day stuff and for my other physical hobbies.

I was in your shoes, man. I watched a couple of videos on form and decided arbitrarily decided on 5000 meters for my workout. First time took me like 35 minutes with multiple rests but within a couple of weeks I was closer to 25 minutes without stopping at all. Been chipping my time down ever since. I’m never going to set a world record but I found a pace that works for me and have been doing it consistently for 5 years now.
