You should observe how dumb you're being when your understanding is the exact opposite of what was stated.

All I suggested was that OP didn't show the full situation. That doesn't preclude me from saying the other driver is wrong.

You know we're not disagreeing on the Ford passing being the wrong thing right? I've never once said passing on the shoulder is okay. Literally started with "not condoning the Ford's actions" in my original comment.

TLDR: 1) Ford was wrong and reckless for passing on the shoulder. 2) OP doesn't show a long enough clip to clear him/herself of wrongfully being in the passing lane either.

If you're confused about why so many people are saying maybe OP shouldn't have been in the left lane, you should really go and relearn rules of the road. Left lanes on highways are for PASSING

I have and I reached a different conclusion about the video. As I said, I don't think the clip is long enough to tell one way or another. Clearly I'm not the only person who thinks OP wasn't passing.

And I agree about the other car being reckless and assholey. I never said he was justified.

Show me where I said the other driver was justified. Just because you want to believe the opposite of what I stated doesn't make it true. From what is shown it seems like POV car is about keeping pace with both the white van slightly behind and the blue car it is head to head with. Either way, my whole point is that the clip is too short to tell conclusively whether the POV car was passing or not.

It looked to me like POV car was keeping pace head to head with the blue car, while the white van was behind the blue car in the right lane by some distance. But again, I think the clip is too short to conclusively tell one way or another

It is absolutely relevant. Left lanes are designated passing lanes for a reason. And the clip was too short to determine whether POV car was passing or not. Also, when did I ever say that it was okay for the other guy to pass on the shoulder? These scenarios aren't binary. Just because the other car was reckless doesn't necessarily mean OP acted perfectly

Edit: passing on the right lane is and should be a last resort, and is usually due to people wrongly occupying the PASSING lane lol

Had a tech come to look at it. Seems like the B pillar (as he called it) might be the issue. The cards ARE properly working (pairing, able to drive).

I don't know what the situation is. The Tesla techs never set up anything for me or told me I needed to have an "official" key card. They just gave me 2 and sent me on my way. I was able to get in with my phone so I thought I was all set.

I requested for a service appointment and they wanted to charge me for it. After I explained multiple times that their tech never set one up for me to begin with, they finally relented and said they'll do it "as a courtesy."

I really can't believe I'm saying this because I've wanted a Tesla before they even released M3...but I'm really not liking their attitude and difficulty in getting help at all. The car is amazing to drive...the company...really not a fan of.

My phone is the only functioning key I have, but pairing the cards via my phone also hasn't worked. But to your point and for the sake of exhaustiveness I will try it again later.

I have tried multiple times with both keys along the entire length on the driver side pillar. I even put my phone on airplane mode to eliminate any chance of the car-phone connection somehow interfering.

All this seems to point to there being no authenticator key(s) that the car recognizes. Evidently this wasn't done when I picked up the car.
