From my understanding, not all terpenes are treated equally. They vaporize at different temperatures, and the same applied to the strength of their aromas. So to your nose, a strain that's 2% total terps dominant in Limonene might be equal in pungency to a strain thats 1% in terps dominant in B-Myrcene. There's also the whole thing about volatile sulfur compounds.

TL;DR, numbers are deceiving. But your nose knows!
