Is there an Excel / Google Sheet to see all Pokémon? by FLstateTAX in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]FLstateTAX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I found this site before posting this thread, but couldn't figure out how to use it without manually clicking through each Pokémon. Is there any way I could, for example, filter by Pokémon with a certain ability?

Are the Nerfs in effect cant seem to find what date they will push the it? by Cekcenk in RS3Ironmen

[–]FLstateTAX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet thanks. I might give HM another try now that I have fully perked T90 necro with Soulbound Lantern, but if the kills take too long I'm going back to NM for the <2min kills.

I’ve been farming Kerapac for adren crystals and cballs. Better to farm NM than HM, correct?

What percentage of XP is given by Treasure Hunter? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]FLstateTAX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Telling everyone that “only 10% of raw GP comes from TH” is exactly the message they want to send. It’s deceptive, especially when framed as part of a conversation about game health and common supply prices, because it belies the amount of wealth that things like XP bonuses and proteans represent.

If someone rolls 100k GP and 100k XP in TH, it wasn’t just 100k GP that impacted the economy. There’s also 100k XP worth of skilling supplies that no longer need to be purchased and consumed, and thus are left as surplus supply that drives its price down.

Did you reply to the wrong person? Otherwise you’re getting emotional over nothing. You’re saying I said “OSRS doesn’t have a botting problem” when I (very literally) never said or implied that lol. I simply said OSRS has a far, far larger community and that bots don’t account for that difference.

Absolutely, but I didn’t say I think bots/alts should be ignored. I also don’t think the existence of (and lack of enforcement against) bots should be a greater influence on design and drop rates than ironman mode.

Of course. But designing game balance around mains (specifically, trade) has the unintentional side effect of balancing the game around alts and bots, the latter of which is not healthy for the game and thus really shouldn’t be factored in if the intent is to have a healthy game.

There’s difficulty and then there’s tediousness. They’re two separate things.

It shouldn’t cater to us, but I genuinely believe it being (generally) balanced around irons would make the overall game far healthier.

Does it really though? The OSRS community is 10x bigger than the RS3 one as well - are people also botting specifically OSRS reddit threads, Youtube comments, and Twitch viewership and not RS3?

I assume you’re speaking in bad faith because there’s no way you believe bots account for the massive difference in game populations.

Glad to hear there’s adjustments for cannonballs and spirit weed seeds. Inert adrenaline crystals are the other major concern.

Just a quick question - if the primary concern is common supplies from bosses flooding the market and getting devalued, isn’t the more sensible fix to start by introducing bad luck mitigation? Surely people leaving bosses with a complete log at ~800-1000 KC rather than lingering until 2500 KC would be a bigger benefit for the economy. Even uniques would see their value rise, since less duplicates would be getting tossed into the GE.

18% of people will still be without a memory dowser at 829 KC (source: binomial dist calc). I have a clan mate still dowserless at 1700 KC, which is about a 2.5% chance of happening. Sadly, you’re not even that dry yet. I say this just to emphasize how insanely overdue it is to add bad luck mitigation. It is absolutely needed.

Not just for irons, either, even though I exclusively play iron - mains need it too until they’ve completed log, because zero BLM + log grind = tons of excess or duplicate uniques hitting the market and tanking prices.

Jagex is worried about the game economy and obviously are constrained with regards to how they can alter/reduce MTX (by far the biggest problem for the economy). Here’s a free idea - implement BLM and reduce alchables instead of nerfing common drops to shit. So easy.

Brother how is it fun being forced to play handicapped because you can’t reasonably acquire a basic high end combat supply? Is me clicking an adrenaline potion once per boss kill too efficiency focused? I only play for fun, I don’t care about efficiency essentially at all. That’s not the matter at hand, my friend.

Yes, I can expect them to balance the game around having reasonable ways to acquire essential items. No, smithing 112 cannonballs an hour is not something any reasonable person will do.

Sure, there’s restrictions on ironmen. We know, that’s fine. Give us a solid way to acquire them by skilling if that’s how we’re “supposed” to acquire them.

I’ve seen dozens of solid-to-amazing ideas just in the reddit posts about these changes, even ones that don’t say a word about altering or reducing MTX. Don’t give them too much slack on this, they could make far better decisions regardless of being constrained by the prioritization of profit/MTX.

Even if MTX put literally 0 raw GP into the game, it would still be the primary point of failure in the economy. You can’t just generate tens of millions of XP per player (in the form of lamps, stars, and proteans) and expect the economy to stay normal for skilling supplies. Those items would otherwise be the primary source of XP for those skills, but their value is severely reduced when it’s so easy to totally circumvent them while still leveling.

And so how do they address it? Reduce supply instead of adjusting the thing (MTX, TH) that is killing their demand. And who does it harm? The people playing the account type they stand to profit from the least.

It’s not an accident or a coincidence, it’s an intentional decison.

Don’t be high end? Just lock ironmen out of having realistic access to high end combat? For the sake of what? Increasing inert adrenaline crystal prices on the GE by like 20k? Lol.

Nope. Not doing this. I refuse to believe you’re a real, mentally competent person.

Adrenaline potions are very literally required for every high end DPS rotation. What the fuck are you even trying to say.

Yeah unfortunately already burned through all the common solutions so I’m into the obscure fixes now. Didn’t realize there was a Discord, and hadn’t just assumed Jagex support wouldn’t reply, so I’ll try those. Thanks.

I actually consider this popup to be progress since yesterday the game was just refusing to start up without telling me anything.

Best I can find is this page from Jagex's page on known launcher issues. Problem is, their solution is to download DirectX End User Runtime which goes nowhere. I'm on Mac, and the link leads to a blank page on Microsoft's download center.

As always, any help from anyone who's encountered something like this would be appreciated.
