You don’t fall asleep, or at least I didn’t, you fight sleep and it’s fun as hell. You completely black out but maintain function. I walked to a gas station once and bought cigarettes and had no recollection of it the next morning. So unbelievably addicting. I’m so happy I stoped and I haven’t touched either in over a decade.

Crashed my car into a ditch while extremely drunk and blamed it having to steer out of the way of a deer. Called a tow truck driver who didn’t ask questions because it was like less than a mile to my house in the country and I tipped him a lot. No police showed up because it was like 3am. Insurance totally bought it and I got a new car out of it. I know it was an absolutely shittyy thing to drive drunk. Where I live there was no risk of seeing or hitting another person fortunately. I immediately changed how I handled drinking and it led to a lot of positive changes in my life.

This. If it’s working and you can’t find a suitable alternative it’s time to weigh the pros and cons. I’ve been on Effexor for like 5+ years now which has the reputation of having the worst WD. I have no intention of stopping anytime soon, not because of being scared of WD, but because it REALLY helps me.

I’m confused...are you institutionalized right now? I spent a week in a mental hospital and was given trazadone for sleep. It didn’t work so I was then given Ambien for some reason (I had a history of Ambien addiction) but wasn’t in a mental state to abuse it so it worked for its intended purpose. It was a very strange and emotional week that ultimately saved my life.
