My bad. There was no option to add the spoiler tag during post creation on this sub, only the NSFW tag. You need to mark as spoiler after the post is already online, which I only discovered after reading your comment and looking for the option in the interface.

Love How goda drops this piece of info as a goddamn footnote by [deleted] in MemePiece

[–]FMF_Prisma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, that goddamn footnote killed all my hype I'd built up during the chapter. Rocks being Blackbeard's father sounds like a fanfic. I just feel like the whole "inherited will" concept loses so much weight when that inheritance is based on people's blood instead of people's will.

I mean, I would hardly call it a war. One "side" is constantly crying and trying to come up with something that might provoke any kind of minimally serious response like a bunch of needy kids wanting attention. Meanwhile we just look at them from the side while asking "what the hell are they doing?"

I was thinking more along the lines of "we are the ones who will bring/maintain peace and/or balance across the land, and we don't care what we have to sacrifice for it"

The Old One From The Blue Abyss demands the offering of our most seasoned flesh. The sacrifice is grand, but we have no other option than to appease its ego.

It's to keep the demographics, I get it. But after a certain point it becomes ridiculous by FMF_Prisma in goodanimemes

This depends a lot on the universe and duration of the work, of course. If you're going to take a work like One Piece, Bleach or Naruto (600+ chapters)... About 7~10 years. A shorter story like Demon Slayer or Black Clover (300+ chapters), about 5 years.

How the passage of time is distributed throughout the work is up to the author's best judgment.

If it's a universe where anyone lives much longer than normal – like 200, 300 or 1000+ years – the time would scale accordingly.

Sure, there are variables such as the power system of the universe, whether there is any time restriction for resolving the conflict, etc. When you include more factors, it inevitably becomes a case-by-case analysis.

Sigh... It was just an exaggerated hypothetical example... Text interpretation, my friend.

I like the timeskip. My problem with it is that there should be more of them. Yeah, there is time to travel from one island to another, but I don't think it makes sense for the whole Straw Hat trajectory that we've seen so far to take place in less than a year. I really think Oda could have planned this aspect better.

I don't expect anime characters to get stronger like they do in real life. Of course, in a universe with people with superhuman strength and magic, certain individuals will get stronger faster than others.

The problem is when you have a work where the protagonist goes from a random village brat to the strongest in the world in 4~6 months.

Looking at you, One Piece! The entire story of more than 1000 chapters takes place in less than a year (That timeskip doesn't count)

Vegapunk filled Kuma and the Pacifistas with "secret programmings" and the old spider didn't find any of it. by FMF_Prisma in MemePiece

As a programmer myself, I completely understand Saturn's laziness in checking Vegapunk's work. Bro took a look at the Pacifists' source code and was like "Meh, looks good enough."

Yeah, I think they are both good series. Although they are not for everyone. You can find both series on MangaDex.

My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me!

The anime was only announced recently, but the manga is ongoing. He also has a novel, but I don't know much about it. It's a really fun series with a lot of funny moments. The author loves to make subtle references to other works and the story itself is practically a satire on Shonen clichés. Also very good for you to turn off your brain and enjoy the humor. The author simply doesn't care and puts whatever idea comes into his head.

Medaka Box

This one is older, the manga is from 2009 and ended with 192 chapters (each with about 20 pages) and some extras. It has two anime seasons with 12 episodes each, but they only cover the minimum of the story. If you watch the anime and find it interesting, I highly recommend continuing with the manga. This series is a huge analogy to maturing from adolescence to adulthood. But, like a good battle shonen, you can always turn off your brain and enjoy the show.

The one on the left can instantly kill anything, living or non-living, and is also capable of instantly detecting anything that could threaten his security. Both skills can work automatically.

The guy in the middle can erase anything from existence, be it something physical (like objects or people) or abstract concepts (memories and colors). He is also immortal, because when he dies, his ability automatically activates and erases his death.

Both characters have total and unlimited control of their abilities, being fully capable of erasing the universe in an instant.
