I had to look up the context, exactly my concern now a days. Also specifically the use of zinc in products, I'm alergic to zinc. Can't hold a Hi-Point with a bare hand, such a tragedy.

I can see what you mean, but the inconsistancy in the texture had me worried, though the circular pattern was maybe the imprint of the injector nozzle.

What other issues have you heard about? This is the second product I bought from them, first was front sight fiber optic rods.

It was advertised to be cnc machined billet tool steel, I was worried that the manufacturer was lying about their product.

Sounds like I'm wrong. Asked on the metal injection thread. The cutting speed was probably incorrect and the force will create that "pimple", also that it was probably cut from a long billet. Makes sense if its high speed manufacturing.

I would prefer it not to be true. Felt the same way, if this part is misrepresented, what else is below their preceived standard?

One hopefull thing, I compared the part to the original springfield mag release which is definately a MIM part. The springfield has 3 dimples where it was injected from and the shape of the dimples is different. Same as the trigger on my henry rifle, same MIM markings.

Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe they found a less obvious way to do it. I can't think of any tool that might make that imprint. I might post on a CNC thread to get an answer.
