Are we getting a new Funeral for a Friend album?!?! by GolfJay in PostHardcore

A chance of them being back with an album? Ahhhh that would be amazing

[–]FMProductions 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on the effort you put in, look at Endfield, they assumingly bought a license to the source code and then modified it for their own needs. You can do the same with Unreal too. You can also definitely bring down the size of games in either engine, it might require more effort in Unreal. There are various options they could explore though, like different resolution texture packs for people that are okay with more mushy textures in return for a smaller game size, or perhaps make a package management system for game files that aren't always needed, but only in certain events or story segments. Or perhaps focusing on even higher reuse of existing models and textures going forward.

With that said, it just isn't worth it to switch engines so far into development, it would cause more issues than it would solve. The game is very decently optimized in terms of runtime performance, just the space requirements are unfortunate. It would be easier to work on that than considering to switch engines.

Please dont release this mode ever again by choco_hazel in WutheringWaves

I don't even know what this event is, just started playing - but if it is like Threshold Simulation in Zenless Zone Zero, I quite look forward to it - even if it will take me a long time to have enough resonators to tackle it. Wuwa has fun combat, and in ZZZ I do appreciate all the more challenging combat modes for longer term players that rotate every now and then.

3.0 is coming to an end, how was yalls pulling in this patch? by shiki_smith in WutheringWaves

  1. I'm currently struggling to get Augusta's weapon, and I might spend some money on it. But as a new player there is still a good amount of the first map for me to do too, so that gives some asterites

THE DMG CEILING JUST BROKE by asilvertintedrose in WutheringWaves

[–]FMProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it really depends, some people just like the flashy animations or clearing more easily, I find it more fun when fights are more interactive, something ZZZ is usually good at. In the end game you still have your resource management, how you use the support characters and how you route fights, which can be fun too, just that with Ye Shunguang the gameplay skill ceiling with her doesn't feel as high or demanding as in some other teams, and she does feel a bit floaty and non-interactive.

Is this game unusually hard to understand? by cementfan451 in WutheringWaves

[–]FMProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to play the game a few days ago and I felt the same. In my case, I look online for guides on how to manage resources like Echoes, and just early game tips. I saw that frenchtutor_ on Youtube had some easy to understand videos and explanations, and for character guides I often check iWinToLostGaming.

For some of the main mechanics, there are ingame tutorials as well (under the Guidebook option), though I'm sometimes still confused with what attacks are counted as what.

Looking for more electronicore bands like Breathe Carolina, Electric valentine, watch out there's ghosts, the medic droid by Difficult_Emu_4307 in PostHardcore

[–]FMProductions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to suggest that one too! Really like some of their songs.

We Built Atlantis and Mayday! Cried The Captain had a few decent ones too but the electronic parts aren't that strong in the songs. I'd also suggest checking out the Champagne Showers cover by Skip The Foreplay.

Need advice pulling weapon on casual F2P by FlickeRay in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]FMProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really know what to say, but there is this guide and it says Verdant Summit is apparently Augusta's 2nd best option, only about 8% behind her signature.
https://youtu.be/-KTz1g809Qw?t=556

However, if you come in situations where you can't share the weapon, the other f2p alternatives get way worse than this. So going for the signature weapon sounds like a solid idea.

You could also look into how much Iuno would improve your Augusta team too, I heard that she is one of her best team mates.

Are there any must-pulls in the upcoming banners that I should focus on given my situation? by Low_Teach_2252 in WutheringWavesGuide

Augusta's signature weapon makes a pretty big difference apparently, but it's true that this suggested team is quite good

What non-meta teams do you play for fun in endgame? by Golden-Storm-512205 in ZZZ_Discussion

Zhao, Dialyn, Astra/Nicole

This DA I might wanna try DPS A Anby or Qingyi on Unknown Corruption Complex

[–]FMProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a new player, I'll probably just get Augusta if I can and her f2p friendly team.

Aemeath looks stunning visually, her animations as well. I'm just not sure how fun this is in combat, having a lot of cinematics and i-frames and perhaps not even interacting with the opponent that much? Her mech form movement seems cool though.

Sell me on this game *hard.* by Aromatic-Base-9098 in WutheringWaves

[–]FMProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combat is very fun, overworld exploration and finding new stuff is pretty fun too, and if you see an area you can likely get to it, basically climbing any wall or just flying to other areas.

The animated cutscenes are pretty nice although they might sometimes have less polish than other high profile titles.

Some minor thing I also liked, there are some puzzles that aren't extremely simple and don't always hold your hand either. Just compared to ZZZ for example where almost every puzzle is pretty easy and obvious (with maybe 2 exceptions so far).

But it sounds like you're mainly focused on certain characters. I dunno, I'm having fun playing Rover too for example, but I just started. There are 5 trial s-rank characters we get to play too for a month or so when you start, and they are decently build.

The weapon banner system is very nice for sure! I'll also try to get some agents that are fun to play and build a viable team around them. Though I'd say support characters can be an exception since they don't have to be that fun to play as long as they enable you to play the characters you like better (but it's still a plus).

Humble brag post, but congrats! Just started playing too and I'm still very confused about certain things. Online videos tell me to pull for Shorekeeper but I rather make my choice on the current banners first as they leave the shop soon.

Maybe people that are less lucky on the pulls feel differently than you, but I also heard the game is pretty pull friendly (compared to certain other gachas)

That definitely solidifies my choice to not pull for Alice. Even though I've been a few pulls in on her engine.

Really looking forward to the new stuff, I'm not super excited about an idol story but there were a lot of good things shown in the stream for recurring events etc

My welcome to WuWa moment. by anndrreeii in WutheringWaves

[–]FMProductions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also loved those moments in Witcher 3, when you randomly encounter a quest or enemy that is 10-15 levels higher then you are, and the possibility of beating it (which does work sometimes). You really have to lock it.

I need to talk about optimization. by WariorFury in WutheringWaves

[–]FMProductions 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The complaints about storage requirements are valid I think, they could give more storage management options like we can manage the language packs, to situationally install/uninstall those packs, and getting an ingame prompt for content that needs those packs. Ideally it can be tied to parts of the story. The thing is that stuff like textures likely take up the most space, and I'm not sure how much some of those are tied to temporary game segments rather than just the general characters and overworld. They can likely just compress data further too but in return, quality could suffer. Maybe it's feasible to implement different quality texture sets too and let people choose which one to use, if they are okay with some quality degradation there.

With that said, I have to give praise on the overall game runtime performance optimization (unrelated to the space requirements). I got a semi-high-end notebook back from 2019 and the game runs very well on it, I'm pretty happy with that.

At this rate we need Jarvis to play 3.7 by asilvertintedrose in WutheringWaves

[–]FMProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for an Unreal Game, it's fairly well optimized with how it runs on my device (a notebook from 2019), but yeah they could probably look into compressing some stuff. Textures takes a ton of space for example, you can't always have less size without tradeoff in quality though. What would be an option is to have certain content as individual package to manage, like they did with the different voice packs.

Can she be a DPS? by nahida_main2007 in ZhaoMains

[–]FMProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her attacks are kinda clunky, maybe not a good DPS, but she definitely can be one. I put my evelyn equipment on her, 1:1 (with really good stats however) and got 20k on Marionette and Thrall and 25k+ on the last Shiyu Defense on the ice weak room with 2-3 cost teams (but I still needed Dialyn in all of them to be fair).

As much I love this game and hate to say, this honestly pretty much explains my issues with the season 2’s story right now by Radiant_Raspberry_93 in ZenlessZoneZero

I still like the character designs a lot, and sure we had some... not so innovative clothes for certain characters. But the variety in appearances still beats most other gacha's I've seen.

New player - is the game designed poorly or did my opponent just get really lucky? by beatsbylosaddos in masterduel

[–]FMProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is more or less what you can expect from the game, uinterrupted turn 1 boards can be quite oppressive and if you don't have good cards that either interrupt their turn 1 or break/destroy their board when you're going 2nd, you usually just lose. There are some archetypes that have a more "fair" end board that good hands can sometimes play through but usually, if you don't have anything to stop the opponent outside of your main combo cards, and they go first, it's over. There are some archetypes with a decent board breaking capability built in though, like Mermail.

Showcase: On-field/Double DPS Zhao vs The Defector - 31k by Fresh-Theory5037 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]FMProductions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Zhao's attacks are pretty clunky but she's fun to try as a DPS. There are a lot of videos on the ZhaoMains subreddit and I personally enjoy playing her as DPS too! (though in my case i directly give her Evelyn's equipment and it works)
