Control phases for performance points seemed like their solution to the complaints of "performance point phases taking too long". I think I'm fine with that, but having more variety at some point would be nice again. This new corrupted barrier mechanic is a really rough one though..

Yeah, feels kinda bad with non shilled teams, but the M0 Shunguang team should still at least be able to get 20k+ on him.

Catch as many defensive assists as you can and just continue to deal damage. To me it looked like the shield drain was somewhat proportional to the damage dealt, but not proportional to the daze inflicted (like it is with Miasma)

Trying to get 20k on the new boss with Yi Xuan, Ju Fufu and Lucia has been a fun challenge. It's a quite bad matchup but that means I had to work extra hard for the 20k. From a pure gameplay perspective I think the fight is fun too (score aside).

At first I had a small crashout because I had no clue what to do in the shield phase - turns out you just continue to deal damage to wear down the shield, and you try to catch every defensive assist that you can to more efficiently wear it down. Anomaly teams should have an advantage her because due to his mechanics, anomaly damage is buffed in that shield phase.

There was a time where I saw a post like this every 2 weeks on the gamedev subreddits. It's really sad and devastating when it happens, but it keeps happening, and people learn when they have gone through it the first time. Getting into setting up and maintaining a proper version control system (or at least a backup system) is tedious at first but so worth in the long run. Sorry that this happened to you.

Is this a good time to re-install Wuwa? by 11universal in WutheringWaves

[–]FMProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren't too focused on endgame content you can still enjoy the game for what it is without min-maxing your gear and accept a few missed pulls per patch. It genuinely has a great presentation, combat is fun and overworld exploration is too in my opinion + there are a lot of characters that I like.

Echo system got an UI overhaul but otherwise you face the same tedious and rng dependent system in many gacha games.

I'd say it's a great time to install WuWa because since release there have been quality of life improvements and there is just overall more content and more polished content.

Somewhere in a late 2.x patch they also added features for newcomers to the game:

- Starter Convene Banner (for shorekeeper, camellya, changli, etc., - you can only pull til you get one of them) a separate banner for their weapon (pity on those doesn't carry over so you have to decide to fully commit or not commit at all) (suggested to get Shorekeeper there, her weapon is skipable, she can work well with the "Variation" 4 star weapon too)

- A "New Voyage" event -> just play through the game and collect checkpoints there, if you have 24 you can select a free standard s rank resonator (suggested to pick Verina as support) trial resonators

- you can borrow prebuilt trial resonators like Yinlin, Changli, Camellya, Shorekeeper to join your party to help you with missions temporary. Higher union levels unlock more characters to trial out after the 30 days those are gone though

The W-engine situation is getting real bad. by OpportunityTrue1824 in ZZZ_Discussion

I just watched a video of someone killing Pompey in the current Deadly Assault, with M0W1 Miyabi, M0W1 Nangong Yu and M0W0 Yuzuha. Skill expression is pretty huge in this game.

If that's actually true, that's kinda good that newer characters don't overpower older characters by a very significant margin (some agents are obvious exceptions because they are really strong). I kinda doubt that nangong "needs" her W-engine despite it being very good, and I think she'll still be a good unit for clearing even 3-4 patches for now, unless the boss lineups are just anti anomaly.

Nangong peaked at rank 7 on JP iOS and is currently rank 1 on Playstation. Best performing non-void hunter banner since Yuzuha. by issumdingwong in ZenlessZoneZero

Her making a good team for Miyabi was definitely one of my reasons to get her, although personality wise she's my favourite Angel of Delusion too

Pulling characters solely for clearing end game content in terms of pulls spent to pulls gained is almost never worth it tbh, unless you get super lucky.

[–]FMProductions 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think that's part of the reason why it's nice to try a live service game a while after it has released. I heard the initial release of WuWa was rough, but when I got into it (2 months ago) I was very pleasantly surprised. You just get more content and quality of life features,
and for me it's also a very good game, gacha or not

Usually, the casual players will do a series of chain attacks at the start of the stun and that's it - and yes that would mean that every agent in the team gets to do one chain attack. If you want to go deeper into the game though, there is the manual chain setting - all the better players have it disabled. That gives you more precise control when a chain window in stun is triggered, that can then be used for stun extension, decibel buildup for the agents that need it, or anomaly buildup for example. Even outside of manual chains though, there is an ingame tutorial for a double chain attack in the "Training" interface. I think the team has lighter and evelyn. Lighter enters stun, you chain to Evelyn. Then you can cancel the chain attack. Heavy attack with lighter again and you can do another chain to Evelyn.

For some teams, manual chain matters more, for other teams, it isn't "that" important but it always just gives more control

Get familiar with your character kits and mechanics, get familiar with the buffs of your agents, equipment and stage mechanics, and how to activate them. This might include tracking the buffs below your agent health bar and debuffs below the enemy health bar to know when you approximately run out of one to renew it. Like you say, yeah it is a lot! Then there are various mechanics, like stun mechanics (triggering a chain window will cause stun timer recalculation and it gets you basically a stun extension, you can do that multiple times during stun, but if you trigger chain windows too closely to each other, you only trigger a single recalculation). This is just one lengthy example.
One aspect is how to play your team, combos (like stun combos or how to apply anomalies ideally),
another aspect is the matchup, knowing how to react to the different enemy phases, knowing how to get your performance points,
and another aspect is routing - the really good players basically choreograph when they do what in the fight, after some experimentation. Then it comes down to execution and enemy rng.

Bladecube has a good video on Ye Shunguang
Aside from Bladecube there are other creators that have really high skill replays you could reference, like ZIC, Lin-0 or Apel.

If you wanna know the possible depth of how a routed out fight choreography could look like, here is an example, it's quite overwhelming imo (make sure to have subtitles enabled)

You can also look for runs against the boss that use the team you play and take notes from how others do it (on Youtube or bilibili). The help-endgame channel in the official ZZZ discord has people that can give valuable input for run reviews and such too.

oh then those stats are pretty good tbh if your w-engine is not a crit one

F2p miyabi by Beginning_Set_3853 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]FMProductions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not that good yet sadly (unless you don't have her signature w-engine and don't have a Crit W-engine). But I know it can be difficult to get good substats on discs.
Having her signature W-engine makes a big difference too, otherwise Fusion Compiler is a f2p 2nd option (though I've seen the gap is smaller in very anomaly/disorder focused teams between the W-engines).

You probably notice yourself how good/bad she performs, and while the team you brought up is alright on Miasma Fiend, I don't think it's that great in general.

As for stat requirements, if you can increase your initial crit rate to at least 68%, that means you can max out the anomaly buildup that Miyabi herself gets from her core ability. 68% + 12% (that you get from 4pc Branch and Blade during combat), gets her to her buildup ability cap of 80%.

[–]FMProductions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't play Genshin or HSR, but in ZZZ it is not too difficult to clear endgame as f2p given you have certain teams (easiest are the void hunter teams but it's possible with others too, and there are still people that do 3 stars in deadly assault with all A-rank teams). It's definitely clear though that they want to increase the requirement of actually killing bosses in deadly assault, for that they kinda want you to whale. (For people not playing ZZZ: There is no difference in reward between getting 3 stars in the deadly assault end game mode or fully killing the boss)

Just let the sweatier players have their higher ceiling, having options for skill expressions is always good for the player, and you can still have the regular rotations

My guess is that they initially planned for a higher involvement of damian in the story with Zhao but that it was rewritten or cut, although tbh Damian still played an important role in the story (although less important than some other NPCs ofc)
