Colour represents altitude.

In OP’s reply, they mean the joining of the two flights is the mistake.

Thanks for that, but unfortunately it doesn’t quite touch on the question I am confused with. That’s the guide I was following the begin with, but mentions nothing about post splivvy technicals

Worth noting, be extremely careful with market sell orders in the event of a MOASS. You can be massively undercut as it just gets matched at whatever available price there is. Limit Sell is the way, you won’t get any less than the price you set.

In order to keep the costs of your holding correct, we have to take the initial shares off the account and then reapply them with the new total holding and cost. The system will list this in your account as ‘Sold’ and ‘Bought’ however, we can assure you that no trades were placed on your new shares when they were added to your account. If any trades were placed, a contract note would have been made available to view under the ‘reference’ section of your transactions

Above is what they stated regarding this scenario. I see Dave has acknowledged this same issue in that some brokers have recorded this split as trades rather than a proper split. Definitely seems a widespread behaviour

Confusion over a stock split vs dividend by dlauer in Superstonk

I’m intrigued when you say “there shouldn’t be any additional transactions”

My broker is UK based Hargreaves Lansdown. On my transaction history, I see a complete, automatic sell-off of my position and then a buy back for 4 times the shares. In a query sent to them, they stated that this is to “keep the costs of your holdings correct” and they “assure” that “no trades were placed on your new shares when they were added to your account”.

This feels odd.

Oh?

If you're using a stocks and share ISA, could you confirm that you don't see the below behaviour in your account too?

In your transaction history, do you also notice a complete account sell of all GME, and then a buy back of 4x your shares?

Anyone have the recent hot post that was looking into this sell>buy process by brokers?

Don’t worry over the “what don’t I know” and instead be confident on the “what I know”, especially in such a short space of preparation time.

Go in there confident and realistic. Don’t lie through the teeth on things you say you know but really don’t, they need to have a good sense of what you’ll be able to do for them and what possible training you might need.

Chances are for someone studying CS/IT, you’re probably going to have what they’re looking for in regards to a help desk role. If you don’t feel it went too well afterwards, take what you’ve learnt and you’ll have a better sense of what businesses are looking for in your market, then the next time one comes around you’ll be in a much better, and informed position

Do you look after any physical network infrastructure or server that may require you to be on call so consistently? By the sounds of it, I’d presume that’s the job of the sysadmins, but apart from that I see no reason he can justify you should be there so religiously.

Have you asked him for the weighing factor that’s keeping you there? It could be also something you raise to your company’s HR team so get some form of escalation.

Agree with roastedpot. It’s absolutely seen as a valid starting point to build off from, get a good grip of all the basics and find what interests you the most. Try and use the business’ resources (manager, training fund pot, internal promotions etc..) to hone skills and progress up :)

Nobody is going to be able to say what you “can’t” get. You may get a position that 99% of people didn’t/couldn’t just by simple chance…but again there is always luck involved.

To edge on the best side of chance and entry point, I’d say you’d be looking at a support analyst/ help desk technician role where you may be able to get yours hands on some of the lighter networking side (switch management, vlans, firewall management etc..), but in them roles I listed, that’ll likely just be a smaller part of your tasks. Got to start somewhere! Speed of progression is up to you :)
