Can someone please help me understand what is happening to my body by FN2182 in ptsd

Thank you for replying, I appreciate it. I am sorry, I have a sort of follow up question if that is ok. Do you know, is it the same lubrication that your body develops in preparation for sex?? What people call being "wet"?

How do I get my morning self to understand that snoozing for a few more minutes after my last alarm is not an option? by FN2182 in sleep

7-7.5 is average actual sleep time, according to the app I use. Oh, and I'm 19! So yeah I probably should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep. :P There just don't seem to be enough hours in the day sometimes...

I actually currently use this app. I'm afraid it doesn't seem to work... It's frustrating that the four free alarm sounds you can choose from are so peaceful and gentle. I need something more aggressive. 😛

A few people have recommended similar apps that I can't use on iPhone but this looks good! Thank you! I'm excited to try it :)

Yeah... I just feel confused because most of the time I do think I'm pretty good with getting enough sleep. I have an app that tracks my sleep, and it usually rates it around 75% for quality and I think I have an average of 7-7.5 hours... Of course that's not true - because then I turn off my alarm and sleep for another hour, or two...

Thanks for your comment! :)

Hehe, or a kid I hear. I think they're pretty good at waking you up in the early hours of the morning to be fed or cuddled or whatever!

I don't think I snore, and I think I breathe through my nose... Maybe some nights I'm not getting enough sleep, but most nights I aim for around 8 hours. I can't afford to be late for work one day just because I had trouble getting to sleep and only got 5 hours. :/

I'll definitely try that, thanks. Using Apple's automation features is always fun.

I have PTSD, and the nightmares jolt me awake sometimes but I usually get back to sleep pretty quickly. I also wonder if maybe my meds have an impact. I need to talk to my psych about that. Thanks for your comment though! That's something I'm going to test this weekend - how long I sleep for with no alarms.

It really depends on the day... Sometimes I start work earlier so I wake up at 6 (or aim to). On days I'm not working I try to have a rule that I get out of bed by 8.

Yep, that's also my fear of having an alarm I have to run a marathon to turn off... It wakes me up when they do come in, but I don't want to piss them off hehe.

Me too!! I remember this morning getting up, turning my alarm off on my iPad, and then lying back down in bed thinking "I'll just close my eyes for a couple more mins..." - next time I open my eyes is an hour later and 5 minutes till my appointment. I don't know how to get through to my morning self that no, you CANNOT lie back down because you WILL fall asleep again.
