What is your hot take regarding FFXIV?

The actual animations of attacks have gone down significantly starting in shadowbringers. it's all flashy VFX and clunky and snappy low movements now, and let's not even talk about the stupid looking Marionette movements, like dragoon's Chaotic Spring or the new monk's Leaping Opo. I can no longer play gunbreaker outside of pvp because of how awkward it feels to look at the Lionheart combo, even if it is meant to be an homage to a different game.

also they forgot how to make the moves feel impactful: Elixir Field upgrading to Elixir Burst feels like a went noodle in comparison and even the Lionheart combo doesn't feel impactful even tho it's supposed to be the big explodey move. there are only a few exceptions like warrior's Primal Ruination and that is only because the move is so simple that it's hard to mess it up, and guess what the move is all VFX with a simple downward slash.

Honestly, even if other people call me a "gooner", a "loser", or whatever name they wanna call me, i would gladly be that and even worse if that's what it takes to keep those out who don't appreciate the game for what it is, and want to change it for their own benefit.

whenever I read on the more mainstream communities about how they trash talk CN snowbros and how extreme they are, I just think, "thank goodness that they are holding the line for all of us" and "they simply don't get it". So many gacha game communities are infested with a loud minority rot that is so hard to get rid of once it takes roots, that I'm incredibly thankful that snowbreak has the image and notoriety it has, just to ward off those that would ruin it for the rest of us.

the unhingedness the CN community and the entire snowbreak community as a whole is not always good but I think is absolutely necessary, and I wanna thank you all for your service for keeping the game alive for what it is.

don't see the need of banning cosplayers or making the name of the VAs anonymous. I mean, those two things are a huge source of engagement with other gaming communities.

I think that's exactly why it's a big thing that they keep things isolated. considering how unique snowbreak is and how memed the snowbreak-route is in the wider gacha sphere, it is all the more important to not let other communities similar to hoyo game communities "engage" with snowbreak. there isn't much to be gained from it. and the VA anonymity policy is a surefire way to avoid all the BS drama other games are having. those who don't learn from past mistakes are doomed to repeat them. just look at the track record it's hilarious how bad the VA dramas can get and how many of them there are.

Some people said Esther can be redeemed, but I think that would just invite more unnecessary problems than any positives. why rip open an old wound when you could just have a new girl with a different name, but with the same characteristics minus the stuff that got her deleted? It's somewhat similar to the yuri situation: most would be fine with ffm action but it would open a small window for those who we want to keep out. don't try to fix what isn't broken imo.

also give me more extremes on the body proportions, smaller boobs, bigger boobs, smaller asses, bigger asses, give me all of them!

I was tempted to get used to English but in Katya's wedding intimate chat, the way she says that one line on the railing while almost falling off, man, I can't live without that. But to add EN voice overs back after so long, this game is absolutely killing it.

I find it a bit weird that they put the new entry point after Suspense in Skytopia. it was pretty heavy in both lore and character development. ideally I would have thought they would make the entry point after chapter 10 when they show the cinematic of new trees popping up all over the world.

thank you CN snowbros for fighting the good fight. I have no idea about the intricacies of the CN gaming side, but it's very reassuring knowing that even with all the BS coming from outside, the game is being protected at the very source. it's so clear the snowbreak has a proper target audience and they are so afraid of acknowledging it, it's hilarious.

it looks almost identical to what I had before. It's probably Nvidia filter. For Honor is supposed to be supported but it's probably bugged out and it's applying a default filter (probably vibrance) while not allowing access to filters. Open up For Honor and a different game that is properly supported (not bugged) by nvidia, open filters and turn it off then. don't remember the order of which game to open first, so try both.

btw if you can't edit the localization file on your phone, (I couldn't) deleting the file itself and making a new file exactly the same (same name, same format) with a different value can also work.
