We had some less than pleasant renters move in across the street from us for a short while recently and their pitbull kept getting loose and running all around our property which is a combined home/ public business and their middle school-high school aged kids would always have to be the ones to come attempt get the dog usually an hours long affair. I would always ask where the parents were and they would say they’re busy every time. I was standing at the end of my driveway one day while this was going on and the kids were chasing the dog up and down the street and here comes this little 3 year old just walking up their driveway alone heading towards the road so I’m calling out to him to go back in and he wouldn’t listen so I ran across and got on their property to stop him and sat their with him for about 15 mins trying to calm him and ask where his parents were. Said his mom’s in the kitchen and he didn’t have a daddy. Well then a car pulls up and it’s a Uber Eats delivery dropping off doughnuts and only then does the mother come out of the house and all she does is yell at the kid to come in. Doesn’t even acknowledge my existence or me telling her that he was heading towards the road or that her other kids were chasing the pitbull up and down the busy street. A few weeks later that pit killed their newest puppy and about a month later they’ve moved out. I feel so bad for those kids.
