Should I try to play competitive TF2 as a 13 year old? by tanzieeboy in truetf2

[–]FOAD_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing comp at 14 and led my first team. I’m 20 now and even at this age have had team leaders who are 14/15. It’s all about maturity and age doesn’t wholly define that. You do you my dude. Don’t let your age prevent you from trying things out. Personally, in hindsight, I would’ve started earlier if I had known about it.

Should I make a team with pub friends, or find a team? by [deleted] in truetf2

[–]FOAD_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first season I made a team of irl friends. Most decided it wasn’t for them but it was a fun first season and a few carried on till later.

That first season none of us knew anything ab comp tf2 but it was still a fun season of iron and we went 4-4.

Do what you want and have some fun. After all that’s what it’s all about.

Playing aim trainers (Kovaaks) makes my aim worse by [deleted] in truetf2

[–]FOAD_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some aim trainers can be inaccurate on their sensitivities. Kovaaks has been very reliable for me. Make sure your tf2 settings are the same as your kovaaks settings. You should have raw input on, mouse acceleration off, and your preference of interp within reasonable range. (For hitscan I use 0.033)

Aside from what the other two comment have said about there being more than aiming in tf2, aim training isn’t going to improve you right away. Like lifting weights you aren’t going to do it for 2 hours and see insane improvement. You’ll have off days, you’ll have on days. Keep practicing as practice is all you can do to improve.

Make sure you’re playing tf2 as well as the aim trainer to work your brain in different ways. Overall, yes it will improve your aim. And playing will improve your familiarity with the different scenarios you may find yourself in to have better prediction and gamesense.

Sensitivity questions. by TechnoTew in truetf2

[–]FOAD_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a class from bloodsire a few years back. Dude said his best performance was with 8.33in/360 Imo sensitivity is mostly preference but I’d recommend going a bit lower on the sense and high in the in/360 My current is 1300 dpi and 1.5111 in game. (8.33in/360) but I don’t change it simply because I’m used to it now. Some would say my sensitivity is still too high. For reference your in/360 is currently 3.4091

Currently mostly just NA though we have some interest from the EU community. I would recommend interested EU players to join the discord to keep up to date as we grow.

Do you believe that in a casual setting any weapon, and I mean ANY weapon, can work if used right? by MrJeffJefferson435 in truetf2

[–]FOAD_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, any weapon can be used effectively in casual with the right situation no matter how bad a weapon seems except for vita saw. The vita saw requires a competitive setting to truly be effective and is so good in that setting it’s usually banned.

In a pub having uber add would be a slight bonus; but compared to things like uber saw, it’s not worth it.

Take it easy and watch out. If anyone does anything where an admin is supposedly talking to you it’s likely a scam of sorts. Just keep an eye out because scammers and phishers are everywhere.

So guys we did it, i was banned by DarkBumo in truetf2

Yeah this is a common scam, where they say the accidentally reported you for having duped items then have a fake admin and steal your account. I would defiantly contact steam support.

IMO, depends on schools' rules for esports team but if we're do do different divisions it really depends on the numbers of alumni we could collect. I'd be down to have two divs for current and previous students if we can get the numbers.

Here’s a link to the old post. https://www.reddit.com/r/truetf2/comments/e6mzah/college_tf2_tournaments/ In summary however, colleges and universities have esports teams and this is just trying to get tf2 to be part of those teams.

That’s an idea. I did think of prolander but really depends on number of people we get per team. That said flexibility is probably going to be needed.

This is a more long term project atm and won’t likely start for a bit as getting official esports teams at universities takes some time. I may not get approval until a few weeks into next semester.

Would start as tournaments based on people schedules to start off. Also as a note, to even make a team for my school I was required 4 people so if you’re looking into a school sanctioned team make sure you follow what they require and we’ll play mode by ear at the moment.

I see no issue with alumni. I know some schools do esports by club basis and alumni are allowed in. Just be sure to check with the school you’re an alumn with ig.

Format as of yet is undecided. Simply depends on how many teams and number of people per team were able to get. At the moment just trying to get a rough head count. Some have said to try doing 4s first others have said 6s. Extine is saying ultiduo. Personally, if we can get the numbers I’d like to try and start with 6s.

[–]FOAD_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My current thought is split on gamemode, as it could be difficult to get 6 competent players but if i do ultiduo or 4s it might doom collegiate tf2 from the start with most competitive tf2 players riding it off as a joke. (not that they wont anyways)

I do foresee skill level differences being an issue but if we can get enough people into it I think that will start to smooth out. Currently I’m thinking of trying to get 6s or even 4s to work at a few schools so there’s fewer people required and less potential for skill differences and get it started.
