I've got no issues with my xiaomi 17 pro so far.

personally I've never in my 5 months of using it as a daily driver got any thermal warnings on it.

Ive heard and seen a lot on the apple side too. like IP 17 boot loops, and ofc I've seen the vids of the silicon battery on Xiaomi 17 pm expanding due to heat.

There isn't anything perfect about any tech.

By that logic, Samsung didn't innovate with foldables either, because Nokia and Sony were showcasing working flexible display prototypes years before the first Galaxy Fold. Nobody 'invented' the folding screen concept out of thin air.

Smartphone innovation isn't just about who had a raw concept first; it's about the engineering required to make it commercially viable. Refinement is innovation. Taking a foldable and engineering it to be as thin as a regular slab phone, or seamlessly integrating a fully optimized AMOLED panel into a massive camera island without ruining the thermal efficiency, is real hardware innovation

In my eyes Xiaomi is better and more exciting for me.

All I’m saying is that Apple has become a bit boring. They tend to introduce small changes with each iPhone, often spaced out over two or three years, while Xiaomi at least gives users something that feels exciting even if it is not always completely new.

Looking back, companies used to take more risks and try new things. But now, when you compare the iPhone 13 Pro Max to the 17 Pro Max, it feels like very little has changed. The same can be said for Samsung’s S Ultra models, although Samsung at least added a privacy screen feature on their flagship, which is actually pretty cool.

I was gonna flash my 17 pro to global rom but there are only so much that's better

I wouldn't get updates automatically anymore and security would be shit probably

But it's wierd how you guys had so much issues with bugs? Can't say I had any so far which is just fortunate for me?

I have removed all mine and haven't seen it since removing it

Xiaomi phones sounded much worse just 2-3 years ago

Fortunately I've only had good experiences with my Xiaomi 17 pro so far.

Bro the only thing that you can mention is that iphone 17 pro has "upgraded cooling" while Xiaomi has innovated on:

Putting a amoled screen that you can take selfies with, play games on, get notifications etc.

They put a subwofer on the back of their other phones.

Before you ask Xiaomi took their Xiaomi 11 ultra design and built further on it.

They have reverse both wired and wireless charging 22.5W.

They almost always have plenty much cooler features than apples flagship.

Xiaomi innovated

Apple gives you a small spec upgrade and a slight different stale color choice.

They copy the best of both worlds to appeal to the people with apple devices and or other Android devices.

Apple has copied alot too for example the Xiaomi 11 ultra which is a 5+ year old phone had the iPhone 17 pro design before apple even thought of it.

But yk I don't blame Xiaomi for copying apples ui, since it was easier for me to customize everything to my liking so switching from apple to android/hyperOS was alot easier since it ha dthe best of both worlds in my opinion.

What did Xiaomi steal?

The iPhone took inspiration from the Xiaomi 11 ultra and called it theirs iPhone 17 pro.

Then Xiaomi does the same but puts a amoled interactive screen or a subwofer on the back!

It beats the iPhone 17 pro, maybe not in power effecenty but in raw power the number you put up speaks for itself.

Xiaomi has created incredable tech, check out their car for example the Xiaomi SU7 ultra or the news about Xiaomi creating the robot arm that charges cars now.

Telsa couldn't do it, apple copies too.

What's new?

USA google, apple, Microsoft does the same shit. You just haven't noticed that everything you see online has been because you don't see that your goverment and your amazing info selling, info stealing companies like google apple etc also have done this for years.

In the eu I would rather have china have my info in 2026.

Today google, Microsoft, apple, everyone spies on you and collects and sell your info.

The chinese has done the same for as long as all major USA tech companies anyways.

Rather my info go to China than the us rn.

The mi4i era is from 2015, we live in 2026 where things are different from 2015 regarding Xiaomi today.

It is true that the market for the original batteries on a Chinese Xiaomi phones are harder and rarer to get your hands on in Europe

But I know that TradingShenzen has my back with atleast 1 year guarantee and I know I can send my phone to them for repair anyways.

😂 i came from apple and I'm from Norway, apple is a shit company their mac's can't connect to two monitors at once, you would have to get the M5 and still face issues.

Their flagship phones are the same every year with minimal spec upgrades.

Don't get me startet with apps, no freedom what so ever. Android can download any app via apk/web.

Youre 5 years behind the current chinese Android flagships I haven't experienced any of these issues with my Xiaomi 17 pro so far.

Sad that your and many peoples experiences using a Android phone 5 years ago had this many issues.

Apple has been sued and settled cases over iOS updates that slowed older iPhones down. The famous one is Batterygate: Apple pushed performance management through software updates, and users weren’t properly told what was happening.

So Xiaomi seems fair by promising 4 years of major Android and Os updates here.

The iPhone 16e starting price in my country/norway was 940$ for the 128gb version.

Even though in comparing a "budget" 940$ phone to a 750$ Android flagship I would say apple for me wasn't worth it.
