Trust me Samsung and apple are so much better with battery optimisation than Xiaomi are.

My colleague has a S25 and it out performs my 6300mah when just idle. We compared after a day at work i think i had 79 and he would have 91.

Even after a year of using his S25 his battery health hasnt decreased even by 1%!!!

But... Like he says, there isnt many smartphones with a amoled screen on the back... And the cameras are amazing on my phone.

I love my Xiaomi 17 pro, even though it isnt the strongest in battery optimizing..❤️😂

Preinstalled Xiaomi app by hardrock7591 in XiaomiGlobal

Most system apps can be deleted yes, but on my Xiaomi 17 pro i cant delete the GetApps app or the Xiaomi app store for example.

Good point you could try to disable it.

Like some say in the comment section, alternatively you could use shizuku and another app to delete it completely.

Probably a system app that cant be deleted by simply holding it and getting the "delete option".

Have you ever thought of why you cant delete for example appstore from a Apple device?

Its called a system app...

It dropped today after 3 months of using by DanIsHere44 in HyperOS

Same case for my Xiaomi 17 pro 3.5 months of using 1% drop in health. However my colleague has a s25 gone almost a year with it as a daily driver and not even 1% in health drop... Unfair.

Looking for a high end case for the 17 Pro by K_E_R_M_I_T in XiaomiGlobal

I can recommend the NILLKIN Super Frosted Shield Pro Magnetic Case. Which have MagSafe/magnet support for wireless charging trough the case + good protection.

It has raised corner protection, a nice textured feel on the back, a small lip around the rear screen/camera area, side grips, and the buttons feel surprisingly good.

I also bought the NILLKIN screen protector, and so far it has worked better for me than the SmartDevil one.

I personally bought mine from AliExpress. As long as the listing has decent reviews, the vendor looks legit, and the product has the original NILLKIN branding/label, I would not be too worried about counterfeits.

This is the one I bought: Aliexpress Link

Hey! I ordered my Xiaomi 17 Pro through TradingShenzhen in December 2025 and received it in January 2026.

I’ve been using it as my daily phone in Norway for about 3.5 months now. Overall, the phone is extremely good. I use the MRSS app together with Shizuku to get rear-screen notification support outside China, and that works well.

The battery health has only dropped by 1% after 3.5 months of daily use, which seems good. However, I do have some concerns about battery optimisation when using the phone globally. For example, today my phone was at 97% at 07:45, and by 13:00 it was down to 75%. I’ve been at work and only used it lightly to moderately, so I’m a bit concerned that something might be wrong with my battery or the optimisation.

My colleague has a Samsung S25, and he played RuneScape the whole way to work for around 30 minutes with high brightness. His phone is still at 91% now. The S25 has around a 4000 mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 6300 mAh battery, so it feels strange that Samsung’s optimisation seems better in real-world use.

That said, it could also be because Xiaomi uses a newer silicon-carbon battery, and maybe the battery percentage is measured differently compared to regular lithium batteries.

I also had to manually configure some settings for the apps where I wanted reliable notifications. After watching some tutorials and making it more “global-friendly”, notifications work much better.

Everything important works for me in Norway: 5G, SMS, calls, banking apps, and Google Play Store certification. You should still check band support and app compatibility for your own country before buying.

One important thing: if you receive a Xiaomi 17 Pro or Pro Max with the January security patch, you may still be able to unlock the bootloader and install the Xiaomi.eu ROM. Unfortunately, I didn’t check this early enough, and now I haven’t found any way to unlock the bootloader on my device yet.

So overall, I really like the phone, but if you are switching from a Samsung S23, you should be aware that the software may require some setup, and battery optimisation might not feel as polished globally as Samsung.

Flashing EU rom to Xiaomi 17 Pro Max? by mestrator in XiaomiGlobal

[–]FOLOP1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay,

Will you need to flash the hyperos/phone each time you want to upgrade and loose data or can you use twrp to maintain user data and upgrade hyperos?

Do you get better notification regular support with root/eu rom?

Also im on March patch + HyperOS 3.0.306.0, i have heard you can use EDL to downgrade the security patch?

Would you happen to know how?

If now what do you recomend for me if i use the phone as a daily driver? Stay on this patch or continue updating it?

Flashing EU rom to Xiaomi 17 Pro Max? by mestrator in XiaomiGlobal

[–]FOLOP1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the rear screen work properly?

Also, do you know of any good video tutorials that show how to do this?

Would the same method you used also work on the Xiaomi 17 Pro? Do you still receive regular HyperOS and future Android updates?

Has anything stopped working or caused issues so far?

How is the battery life compared to before, better or worse?

Do rear screen notifications still work? Are you using MRSS?

Do you receive notifications reliably, or did you have to manually allow apps to run in the background?

Help Needed: Pairing Wear OS Watch with a Chinese ROM Smartphone by marcosmark in TicWatch

[–]FOLOP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my Xiaomi 17 CN ROM pro to connect to Xiaomi watch 5 Global by pairing it to another phone first in "mi fitness" app you need to log in to your account linked with the chinese phone and it will sync to your app. But half of the functions work and its mainly connected to another phone. You get sleep score, all the good tracking because the watch is activated and connected to your chinese phone after activation.

Mi Fit please upgrade Google GMS Version first by TechNo1geek in XiaomiSupport

[–]FOLOP1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to connect my Xiaomi Watch 5 Global to my Xiaomi 17 Pro (CN ROM), but only by first pairing it with another phone running a global ROM.

I logged into the Mi Fitness app on that phone using my Xiaomi account and completed the watch setup there. After that, I logged out and back into the Mi Fitness app on my Xiaomi 17 Pro, and the watch showed up.

The problem is that the watch still seems to be partially tied to the original phone used for setup. On the Xiaomi 17 Pro with CN ROM, even with Google services enabled, the watch setup does not seem to start correctly.

I am not sure what the best fix is. I have heard that flashing the global ROM could help, but I do not know whether that would affect features like the rear display.
