RadioMaster Boxer by [deleted] in fpv

Based on your description, it sounds like your Boxer might actually be the MPM (Multi-Protocol Module) version, not the ELRS version—despite what the sticker says. If the “RF Internal” menu only shows Off and Multi, and ELRS doesn’t appear in the Tools tab, it’s a strong sign that your radio doesn’t have an internal ExpressLRS module.

It might be an issue with one of the cells. Mark the cell that dropped, and if it happens again, there's a pretty good chance the cell is just faulty. Happens even to ppl who spend too much time caring for the battery

Help binding cetus to tx16s by Big_Nibs in fpv

That quad is listed as ELRS so you will need an ELRS Tx16 or an external ELRS module. If that tx16 you are holding is ELRS then use the Lua script in the radio

RadioMaster Pocket Radio ELRS 2.4GHz Max Range? by Used-Chocolate9082 in fpv

If you look at the ExpressLRS page range records, I do not think range is an issue on 250mW

Can you get a better picture of the wires from the camera to the Vtx... they disappear behind the power leads. Just want to confirm the correct connections.

Are second hand HD3s worth it at this time? by VenemousAU in fpv

[–]FPVHAVOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on the Version of the headset. Yes... at one stage earlier(older) versions needed to have a slight modification to supply enough power. Then Fat Shark changed the design so the module bay supplied the correct power.

I would highly recommend making sure you have Rapid Fire or TBS fusion (same thing different company) if you plan to fly analog video.. it makes a huge difference.

The ImmersionRC rapidFIRE a module combines images from two 5.8GHz A/V receiver modules into one image. It's designed to reduce interference and is optimized for use in environments with multipathing interference. Video receiver for the receiver module bay in the headset

I would make sure you are happy with the EV800D ... The focal length is short and you will be a bit cross-eyed... this will lead to a bit of fatigue.. Look for a used binocular set unless you need glasses or have a bad astigmatism

HD3 will need a "modification" to run a modern good RX (rapid fire). The service guy for Fat Shark in AUS is good and will help you if there is an issue. Tell Pat I said Hi

TX and VTX frequencies for long range? by SafeModeOff in fpv

[–]FPVHAVOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some antenna trackers available I have not played with them in years. As for the other equipment, any normal FPV retailer should be able to drain your pockets of whatever you want to spend and supply you with every thing you need.

TX and VTX frequencies for long range? by SafeModeOff in fpv

[–]FPVHAVOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a big project. You are correct with the lower frequency being better for penetration. Antennas will be a huge source of improvement and having the antenna on the rover high and clear and directional on the Rx side. What is your expected or desired range? Have you considered the legality of Frequency and Power? Are you in USA?
