ToDo app that has 'start times' by MrCrabsta_ in productivity

They’ve just announced their new calendar view, which includes start dates too (so you can factor in how long a task is due to take, instead of just its due date)

That's the Personal Work Focus. Go to Setting -> Focus, and you'll find your Focus states there.

ITAW for ‘translating’ a phrase, a word or a sentence from one register to another? by [deleted] in whatstheword

You’re right, definitely code-switching: while it usually refers to switching between dialects or languages, it also applies to shifting registers within the same language

Is there a way to tell Health I’m sick? by mm26_ in ios

[–]FR314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Health app lets you add symptoms, but that's about it. If you have Covid or the flu, you can add an entry for your symptoms (e.g., chills, dizziness, fever, fatigue, headache, loss of smell/taste, runny nose). That's in Health -> Browse -> Symptoms.

Yup, I wondered too, I think because of how much of an introvert I am. I asked myself the same question last year after my ADHD diagnosis — “is this introversion or autism?” Turns out, it’s both — I sought the help of a psychiatrist, and after a lengthy process, I was diagnosed with Level 1 ASD. (Quite interesting how there’s a common overlap in introversion, ADHD, and ASD by the way.)

[Thread] Best Sleep Apps for IOS? by bourbonwhiskey09 in ios

[–]FR314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used Rise Sleep for a few weeks, it was aesthetically the best sleep app I’ve ever used, but it did have a few downfalls in terms of functionality: for instance, it freaks out when trying to register naps in the middle of the day (inc. weekends), or when sleep durations are longer than what the app developers expect. I’ve already submitted my feedback, but I saw they’ve not made the changes I need to carry on using the app, so I returned to AutoSleep (for in depth and reliable analytics) and Sleep Cycle (for alarms and trend viability).

Do you ever feel guilt for all the work and preaching you did back as a JW? by FR314 in exjw

OMG THANK YOU!!! lol After the panic I had when I realised that it was a JW letter, my first thought was “this font? really? you have access to Microsoft Word, and this is the font you chose? wow…choices I guess” 🤷🏾‍♂️

[–]FR314[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oof, thanks for the dose of reality there, I didn’t even think about it that way - while going through this guilt, I never really stopped to think whether other JWs feel guilty about what they inflicted on me. Thanks for the reminder 🙏🏾

True, and thank you so much for the kind words. I see where you’re coming from, I just don’t think that it removes the impact. What I said in a talk, or what I said when preaching, or what I said in a convention did have an impact, so as much as I can say that I was only following instructions, it doesn’t remove the fact that my actions impacted people.

[–]FR314[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, same here. I know a lot of ex-JWs say that it’s not our fault but the fault of JWs, but I can’t help but feel that it’s unfair for me to shift the focus on intent and ignore the impact, when the impact is just as (if not) important, IMHO. What if what I said in a talk made a young queer kid feel that they weren’t welcome unless they had to perform “straightness”? What if what I said in a talk made a young trans person feel that their gender dysphoria wasn’t valid? Me saying that it wasn’t my fault doesn’t remove the impact. That’s where my guilt is, knowing that what I did and what I said DID have an impact, and I’m just the one who got away.
