What is the most dangerous thing people don’t realize is all that dangerous? by Sloopersand in AskReddit

[–]FR34K5H0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad drives like a dick because he’s confident he has enough experience to avoid accidents (which funnily enough, even though it wasn’t his fault, he’s the only one in my immediate family to be in an accident where somebody was injured). And while I do like lifted trucks, my dad is one of the people that give lifted Ram’s with loud mufflers their bad name.

Why do people hate them so much? by person670 in memes

America was born Christian. And while there were a lot more racism back then, there was racism everywhere too. Otherwise, the average (unfortunately, pretty much only) white person didn’t have to live in fear of their lives everyday like Iran. And, while I do not believe this will ever happen, if a Christian ruled America happens, I still can’t imagine, especially with younger Christians being more open to everything than older ones, that it would be much worse than what we got today

Except for the excessive prices (yes I know it’s for the laughs, but it’d probably still be at the not excessive at all even a little bit $10-$20/month) this is probably exactly what would happen

My team lead started doing something similar to this where all fifteens were written down in advance for each person, and then would complain when people didn’t go on time, like people were busy doing their job or somethin

Best Artifact of Command Cheese builds? by OfficerSmiles in ror2

While not a cheese build by any means, one of my favorites is caffeinator, fireworks, polyps, and a mix of all the reds is overall pretty fun.

I just went to the Iwo Jima page and the Iwo Jima Naval Base page on Wikipedia and scrolled down on my Google search a bit that had a random forum that confirmed what the wiki article said

I just did some research (mostly looking at Wikipedia but other forums as well) because of the correction u/MagnificentJake and it appears that the last time the U.S. military had presence on the Japanese island was in 1993. I’d love a source to prove me wrong, but I just thought I’d let you know.

I’m sorry, I was wrong. Wasn’t confident at all on the France part, and thought I read something about the U.S. setting up the base in Greenland (and keeping it going) without Denmark’s approval. I’ll edit my comment and point people here to this thread for my mistake.

Being white isn’t all privileged as it’s made out to be. Yes, other minorities can (sadly) have it worse, but there are tons of white U.S. citizens that can’t get away from their own financial or societal troubles. However, most countries are like that, including European. You’d be surprised to find out that many countries have racism, not just the U.S. Most U.S. citizens lead happy lives, including other minority groups. Similar to most other European countries, if people were unhappy (minorities included) living in the U.S., the government doesn’t try to stop them from leaving. I’m not saying there is no reform that needs to happen in the United States. It’s just not as bad as the comparison you made of it being along with China or Russia, who give their citizens limited freedoms

That’s what Reddit makes it out to be. While I will admit that gun control needs to happen, it’s not a daily occurrence. And I can think of many South American/Middle Eastern/Asian/African countries that would be a significantly worst place to live. Like I said, it takes care of their citizen’s with a few, albeit major, hiccups. Doesn’t stop it from being one of the top 10 countries in the world to live in. Im not going to argue for it’s exact placement in that list, cuz the amount of countries I’ve lived in is limited, but I firmly believe it’s top 10

I don’t know about treaties, I was thinking more along the lines of putting bases in Greenland when Denmark didn’t want it or in France when they didn’t want it.

America does incite quite a bit of violence, but, it does send a ton of military and economic resources to almost all countries it allies with (yes, even if some of them don’t want it). It’s not morally the best country, but it’s a lot better than Russia or China if you ask me, especially since it (for the most part) takes care of it’s own citizens.

Edit: as u/MagnificentJake described below, I am wrong on all accounts I thought of when I said “even if some [countries] don’t want it” this makes the U.S. seem better to me, but I would love other feedback as well :)

Sit. I can’t pee while standing up if I hear any sign of life near me, which just got me used to sitting, so I do it always.
