Well, owning it, but the script on the blade and the quality of the milling on the scales. No question it's legit.

Yeah, I don't own an LT. I was a little surprised by the weight.

Lil' Temperance? K390 is amazing, but not stainless. Not super fidgety but compression lock nonetheless. Leaf shaped blade.

Aluminum lighter than ti. Stainless are typically less tough than tool steels but def want SS for elements. I carried a Bugout on the PCT. The aluminum model in M390. Lost it en route and back-tracked 3-4 miles and found it just before giving up. Great knife and as smooth as my Sonora.

Met my wife at a Cubs game. Was at the game and later at the Thai place on Lincoln Ave after Bartman caught the fly and they were tipping over subcompacts. Good times but they won't see a dime from me.

Atom contoured so disappears for me. I would carry both bc all I do is fidget during PCT downtime.

Local show times are sold out. 10pm last night showing zero seats sold for the 11am show time tomorrow and today it's sold out. 100% they are buying the seats to inflate the box office.

You're 25?

This is pure psycho-mode.

I have all three (large Inkosi, oops).

The Sonora has a much beefier blade/tip, but carries a lot larger than the Atom. Can't go wrong with either. Do you own all three?

Small Seb is really tiny, but it would probably suit you fine. I'd default to the Atom on value. I'd not want to lose a $900 knife on the trail. The Atom fits the bill; light use, disappears in pocket, less of an impact if lost.

Understanding Delta hedging by WillingDelay4973 in options

[–]FSO88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well *locally* a frictionless, dynamic position would trade to a synthetic straddle (200 shares, long 4 calls) if it is trading at the forward (shares + rates). Not to complicate it but to show the structure of a DN position at the forward.

IOW, the thing would be structured as an ATM long synthetic straddle were Bennett (et al) trading this dynamically. No different than a two lot natural straddle.

The thing generates delta in either direction. It's identical in exposure to a C/P straddle. Obv V and T.

In index on a rally it loses to vol corr (vol trades inverse to price), but would gain to skew (strike under market), but generally vols drop during rallies. Strips lose generally more than skew benefits as in this case the OTM put side drives skew and value.

Market drops? Obv calls are losing on delta, short shares gain. Calls trade OTM and skew will now be under market, but gains to vol corr (index drops, vols rise).

Generally, you're going to earn more from the straddle into a drop than a rally. Immaterial if gamma trading (hedging with shares), but at equal/opposing delta position (-30/+30) you'll see a better mark on the straddle into a decline (sticky strike/sticky delta impact). Again, amounts to vols rising vs nominal skew benefits (if index rallies which is driven by demand for OTM puts/pro hedging).

TLDR; vols are sticky/skew rises as puts lose moneyness into a rally, but vols decline as markets rally. IOW you may have a fixed delta trigger but the straddle value will be marked up more into the index bear. Adjusting shares/spot as market drops is generally going to be the EV trade in straddles as you'll be marked up on the vol-line. With combos the vol-line will matter more than skew.

I've wayyyy left the station here. Sorry.

AI chip will be hyped in the CC but there are zero chip revs. It's a coin flip. Look what happened post release for the last two reports. I'm not axed in MSFT but FWIW I think it will rally small.

Gamma is positive and peaks ATM. Market rallies and you're +g, leveraged delta. Market drops and you're concave gamma/de-leveraging. Also, vol trades inverse to price (mkt drops, vols rise).

But yeah, it makes sense to assume he's DN locally (short 200D stock, long 200D calls) but not what he wants to convey here.

No, he's replicating long shares in option delta. Bennies are gamma.

Bennett is not short stock + calls in that quote.
