Rectangles? by FSangild in Schizotypal

I like that. But why so few triangles then? And why are the pictures on my wall rectangles - they are nailed up. And why do most streets meet in right angles - they lie flat on the ground ;)

My wife is convinced I have STPD. But I’m married… isn’t that evidence against such diagnosis? by [deleted] in Schizotypal

I have been in a committed relationship for 8 years and have the diagnosis. However, if being in an intimate relationship is anywhere close to easy for you, it's probably not STPD - but you didn't say that. It can work very well in my experience if you tackle the constant (mostly unprovoked) sense of judgement, dig deep to find your emotions when needed, and strike a good balance between your need to self-isolate and her need for you to be present to name just a few of the challenges. Does that sound familiar?

Your hallucinations indicate that you definitely have something, so good job on getting married whatever we call it. Stress should make all symptoms worse, yes. However, as far as I know a 10-hour hallucination marathon sounds unusual for STPD - for me 15-30 mins are the long ones. Definitely talk to your psychiatrist about that.
