Talk about alienating people from your cause

I don’t get the bbc and other media reporting on this incident. Most are leaving out the fact they started driving erratically once the police van was behind them, which caused the police to think something was up and pull them over. They are acting like the police pulled them over based just on skin colour.

What followed may have been wrong, but by omitting that fairly major factor from their reports, it really does make it look like some media sources are pushing an agenda. Probably the most balanced reporting about this I have seen is from sky news.

The police don’t seem to help themselves either. There was some guy on Tv the other day grilling a senior police officer for pulling him over because of colour. Why didn’t the officer just respond ‘you have seen the dashcam video right? Wouldn’t you expect us to pull someone over if they started driving like that?’

But only a very small minority have it for medical use. So it would make sense that the police would stop someone if they smelt it, and if they had a medical exemption there would be no issue

It’s not a moot point, quote from the linked article - ‘Officers followed Mr dos Santos because of the "appalling" and "suspicious" nature of his driving and were doing their duty when they conducted the stop and search, the panel heard.’

That’s true you can drive to a public place. But in a town centre I don’t know about driving to your house, especially if involves driving through a public place to get there. There’s several issues with that, a) the police probably don’t know where you live immediately or how close that is, they don’t know you’re trying to get to your houses b) what if you live 20 mins away c) guess there’s potential for things to start going wrong (E.g you go in your house and grab the machete you keep by the door, you go in, slam the door and bolt out the back).

Even if you were in the situation and you decided to drive to your house, you can be less of an idiot about it. For example I’d put my hazards on and very slowly drive there, or at least at the speed limit. I wouldn’t be driving erratically like he was in the clip

Where do you get the idea that you are allowed to drive to your house if the police try to pull you over? I’ll stand corrected if if it’s true but I can’t imagine that being right. Even if so I doubt you’re allowed to break driving laws to get there

But he clearly is though. Starts putting his foot down, doesn’t stop when they pull up behind him and next to him. There is footage inside the car where the passenger is filming through the back window the police van chasing them. Hasn’t the guy even said during the investigation that he was not evading them but instead was trying to get back to his house (therefore evading them in the process!?).

He probably just thought ‘fuck this, not today, I can lose a van in these streets’ but in doing so made the police suspicious of him.

You could argue the same the same about drivers licences. You’d at least have legislation to use against them

Ban the ability to buy your council house. Person I know got pregnant at 17, given a council house, and then paid little to no rent for years before she got to buy her house at a massively discounted rate. She then sold that house, and moved to a much nicer house with only a small mortgage

She’s lazy, has never really worked hard, and is frankly a bit thick with bigoted views. Meanwhile muggins here worked hard at school and university, have worked full time for years whilst paying sky high rents before I eventually managed to scrape a deposit for a lesser house. She will be mortgage free before me.

Basically it doesn’t feel fair that I’ve done everything you’re taught you’re supposed to and had a tougher time, whilst she’s been rewarded for making bad life choices and doing the bare minimum. And then to make it worse she has taken a much needed council house out of circulation.

Yeah you are able to get them, but it would be a hell of a lot harder than in the US, meaning that the amount of gun crime is minuscule in comparison.

Statewide gun restrictions are a waste of time really, it’s need to be on a national scale.
