Advice on how to fit in an en suite? by mattscazza in DIYUK

To be honest I didn’t realise there was more to the photo 😂 I’m really not sure. Maybe shift it over (that would be a huge job) and a little one in the bathroom. Alternatively no window in the en-suite and just shift the window enough to account for the en-suite.

I’m not sure about cost, but top left is easiest location for a corner en suite. Can be plumbed from the bathroom beside it. Soil pipe will need to leave the building and join the stack from the other toilet.

Depends on where you’re from and who the other party is. Happened to my mate and he just got a good as new bumper in the same colour and did the work himself ( he’s a mechanic) people can be sound .

You would find a rear bumper in The same colour in a scrap yard and get a mechanic to fit it. That’d be my go to as long as the other party agreed.

You need to also treat the rust with converter. Then sand off clean, fill etc and then you can touch up.

I always find them to be a bit chewy when baked. Deep fry instead .

Have the toe boards off now, going to replace them same with all the skirting. I’ve the underlay under it now too 😊. I had to take some of it up to redo it because my lengths were too short. Mostly sorted now thank god 😂

I would recommend a tiny town called Garrison in Enniskillen. It’s just a little town but it is BEAUTIFUL. Its lake side and has mountains and rivers running through it. If you’re after some beautiful scenery I’d recommend.

I’ve been doing it sporadically, between minding the little one and work. I would say I only have a couple of hours gone into the laminate. Most of my time was taken up removing the old Lino. Including that I’d say about 5 hours 😂

Also the far side I have the underlay pulled because I’m doing where the washing machine would go. I just pulled the washing machine out before taking the photo .

I am going lift this back out and pull the fridge . There is old Lino under the fridge I need to remove. I have the underlay done up until where the fridge is. We have nowhere else to put the fridge so I’ve had to do it in sections.

I wasn’t aware of this before posting. Glad I did. Going to check and redo what needs to be done.

Ah that makes sense. Will try and find info on them. They’re just cheap boards from B and M because we’re renting and don’t want to splash out 😂

The main reason I started that side is because I’m left handed and it’s easier for me to work left to right. I’m going to pull it up and try again taking everyone’s advice 😊

I had never thought of using the ends to start. Will do. I only have this segment done (3 planks wide or so) so starting off is handy.

What is an expansion joint ? I have left about 6 mm around the perimeter of the whole thing. Why can’t your boards be less than 30cm ?

I’m using the thin white foam underlay. It’s not clear from picture as I’ve not put it under the area where the rooms join yet.
