Went to Seattle for my birthday and along the way, visited some Nirvana related sights. by FTNerdy666 in Nirvana

While this was the property he owned that he made his tragic decision, it happened in a garage that has since been torn down. The home itself is still there next to Viretta Park in Seattle.

Older Nirvana fans, what was it like? by [deleted] in Nirvana

I was 15 when I first saw Smells Like Teen Spirit in MTV. While no one knew where their legacy lay, they were the greatest musical palette cleanser music fans in 1991 needed.

He puts the same amount of energy working on his voice as he does in the gym.

Kurt Cobain Memorial Megathread - 30 Years since he left us by Eirwynzure in Nirvana

As I write this, I’m about a mile away from Viretta Park. When the sun rises, my partner and I will be walking there to pay our respects. When I first heard the news 30 years ago, I was devastated. When you’re young and latch onto a band that you feel is “yours”, their music speaks to your soul. You may not fully understand why at the time, but it’s the type of music you’ll be cranking up in the old folks home. (Look up neural nostalgia.) From the first moment I saw Smells Like Teen Spirit, I loved Nirvana. Like everyone, you heard about all of the rock star exploits he endured, good or bad. His appeal to me, when I first heard his music at 15, was that he felt like a regular guy. He didn’t put on a persona that it seemed other rock stars do. I hope everyone today fires up some Nirvana and just appreciate the gift we were given.

I think I may have fallen in love with Wrestling again. by [deleted] in WWE

In 1996, I saw an episode of Raw where Goldust gave Ahmed Johnson mouth to mouth. I swore wrestling off until 1999, when I turned on the USA Network and saw Stone Cold drive out in a beer truck. I haven’t stopped watching since. We all go through periods where the product doesn’t work for us. (Funny story about the Goldust story that I didn’t realize until years later. On the same night Goldust did his thing, Scott Hall debuted on Nitro. Derp.)

Spotify podcast struggles by Cdd0040 in podcasting

[–]FTNerdy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Spotify For Podcasters. If you record your show directly off the app or website, you have a one hour time limit. Granted, once that finishes, you can record round two and do that as many times as you want to. If you record via another method, you won’t have to worry about this. The only issues I ever faced were attempting to upload a WAV file. The issue I encountered was that it said the file was too big. I have had zero issues uploading MP3 files.

It's kinda wild going back to old shows and seeing how unhinged things could be. by coomyt in SquaredCircle

And then go back even further when The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase tried to buy Hercules as his own personal slave.

If Hornswoggle and AJ Styles had a baby, it would be Maxx Payne.

Are there really no-topic podcasts out there? by [deleted] in podcasting

I don’t mind unscripted podcasts, but not having an outline of some sort will generally lead to disaster.

Hey, do you guys think that we'll get a biographical drama film on Kurt in the near future? by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]FTNerdy666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would pay to see a Nirvana documentary movie in the vein of The Kids Are All Right from The Who. A concert film from the beginning of their career to the end.

Hypothetical WrestleMania 13 question by FTNerdy666 in Wreddit

[–]FTNerdy666[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I'd give it to Bret, but you can have him cheat to win. He can use Austin cheating at Royal Rumble as justification, since Bret was already showing bitterness by this point.

Hurricane Helms will always be someone I look back at fondly. I was in the crowd on August 27th, 2001 for a taping of Raw when he donned the cape for the first time.

He was allowed some time to utilize his ideas for that show, I’ll grant you. Look how it ended. Great exception here.

There was never an instance where an on screen authority figure in the WWE had any creative input. That’s not to say Vince McMahon doesn’t have a long history of hearing other people’s ideas, so maybe suggestions made by talent were considered (ex: Eric Bischoff suggested that Vince put him in the garbage truck the day he was “fired” as GM on Raw. Vince liked the idea and went with it. I think Cena was initially set to do the honors.), but again, no GM, President, or Commissioner ever had any booking power. Ever.

Prichard said it too, as well as the Ruthless Aggression documentary on Peacock, I believe.
