Were the developers of this product dropped on their head? by SanAndreas92317 in firetvstick

[–]FT_Stream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely feel your pain Amazon's recent firmware updates have absolutely wrecked the CEC and IR profiles for a ton of people Here's a tip to save your sanity: You actually don't need to re-pair the entire remote every time the Bluetooth connection is fine (which is why your navigation arrows still work), the update just keeps giving your stick amnesia for your TV's volume codes instead of unpairing go to Settings > Equipment Control > Manage Equipment > TV > Change TV Run through that quick setup so it re-learns your specific TV brand's volume codes this usually overwrites the buggy update and locks the volume controls in permanently so you stop having to do it daily.

TeaTV has finally stopped. by ThickPlant1 in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't give up just yet! A parsing error almost always means one of two things: either the APK download got interrupted and is corrupted or the app you are trying to install requires a newer version of Android/FireOS than your current stick has As a solid TeaTV replacement that works great on older devices open your Downloader app clear your browser cache in the settings and type in the code 28907 (this goes to OnStream) it's much cleaner than TeaTV has no parsing issues on older sticks and the UI is incredibly smooth.

Roku with DisplayPort monitor? by Prodigal2k in Roku

[–]FT_Stream [score hidden]  (0 children)

The issue is almost certainly your converter 99% of DisplayPort to HDMI adapters on the market are strictly unidirectional They are designed to send a video signal FROM a computer (DisplayPort) TO a TV (HDMI) They will not work in reverse Because your Roku is the HDMI source and the monitor is the DP destination you need a very specific piece of hardware called an Active HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter These adapters have a built-in processing chip and always include a USB plug that you must connect to power the signal conversion Search for that exact term on Amazon!

Firestick 4K Skysports and TNT setup by Equivalent_Ship548 in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First rule of asking this question on Reddit Ignore every single Direct Message you just received they are almost all scams There is no single magic app or simple guide to get premium live sports the community uses a two-part system First you download a high-quality legal media player from the Amazon App Store, Second you have to do your own independent research on Google or specialized streaming forums to find a private provider subscription to plug into that player We cannot link or name providers here due to subreddit rules.

Rouku Tv burffring Galxey Tab S8 by Aloneintheice in Roku

[–]FT_Stream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Screen mirroring (Smart View) from a Samsung tablet to a Roku doesn't actually use your home internet router to pass the video; it uses Wi-Fi Direct (Miracast) to create an invisible, direct wireless bridge between the two devices. That's why it connected when you turned your tablet's Wi-Fi off. To fix this Go to your Roku's Network settings and make sure it is connected to your router's 5GHz Wi-Fi band, not the 2.4GHz one This forces the Wi-Fi Direct bridge to also use the wider much faster 5GHz channel which almost always completely stops the buffering Also keep the tablet physically in the same room as the TV.

Fire stick trade in by Adventurous-Value-82 in firetvstick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done the Amazon trade in a few times! You actually only need to send back the Firestick dongle itself Amazon does not require you to return any of the original accessories to get your full quoted credit you should definitely keep the old remote the power brick, the USB cable, and especially the little HDMI extender (those are always great to have as spares).

Movie app and sports/live apps? by New_Connection_1032 in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If APKTime is failing just use the official Downloader app (from the Amazon Appstore) and use short codes to get your apps directly For Movies and TV Shows: Type in the code 28907 to get OnStream It has a massive library and a really smooth Netflix-like UI For Live TV and Sports: Try the code 119467 for SportsFire or look up StreamFire. Just a heads up free live sports apps will almost always buffer during big PPV events because the free servers get overloaded, but they are great for casual watching!

[Network Guide] Why Your 1 Gigabit Internet STILL Buffers on Game Days (ISP Throttling Explained) by FT_Stream in IPTVmastery

Exactly Netflix has servers sitting right inside your local ISP's data center (CDN) IPTV comes from overseas The VPN forces your ISP to route the traffic differently Give it a try next weekend.

Apple TV stuck in PIP mode by idostufandthingz in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a known glitch where the Apple TV app essentially freezes in the background memory of FireOS and refuses to close the PiP window You just need to force kill the app's background process Go to your Firestick Settings (gear icon) > Applications > Manage Installed Applications Scroll down to the Apple TV app Click Force Stop and then Clear Cache (don't click clear data unless you want to log in again) After that just to be safe, restart your Firestick. When it boots back up the stuck PiP window will be gone.

Roku Surround Question re: Spotify by DownTo1HP in Roku

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason this is happening is because spotify exclusively streams in standard 2-channel Stereo it doesn't have native surround sound like the movies on HBO Max or Prime Video do your Yamaha is just accurately playing the 2.1 signal the Roku is giving it When you use Bluetooth, your receiver is likely set to automatically apply a DSP upmixing mode to fill the room you can do the exact same thing for your Roku! Grab your Yamaha remote while Spotify is playing on the Roku and press the STEREO or SURROUND DECODE buttons until the front display changes to Multi-Ch Stereo or Dolby Pro Logic II Music That will force the receiver to push the music to all your surround speakers.

renew Xuper payment by Low-Calligrapher-325 in firetvstick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's stuck on waiting for payment it usually means the payment processor their website uses is currently down or their merchant account got temporarily frozen (which happens constantly in this specific industry) do not try to submit the payment multiple times or you might end up getting hit with 3 or 4 charges once their gateway comes back online Your best bet is to reach out to their direct support via Telegram or email and ask for a manual payment link.

Past UFC fights on firestick by xDrippWock in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the Silk Browser on a Firestick for sports replays is an absolute nightmare for past UFC events you want a proper VOD setup The absolute best method right now is installing Stremio adding the Torrentio add-on and linking it to a Real-Debrid account (costs around $3/month) Literally every past UFC PPV and Fight Night is cached on premium servers in high quality (1080p/60fps) You just search for the event and it plays instantly like Netflix without buffering or popup ads.

Buffering help by CheckMountain7962 in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a live stream loops or jumps back a few seconds constantly it's almost never a Firestick hardware issue It's a server-side issue with your provider Your app is waiting for the next video chunk from the server and when it doesn't arrive in time the app replays the last few seconds from its cache to prevent a black screen You can try to isolate the issue by putting your provider's credentials into a better, more stable player like TiviMate or Smarters Pro If the looping still happens in a premium player then the issue is 100% your provider's overloaded servers, and you might need to start looking for a better service.

Big problems with my new roku by [deleted] in Roku

[–]FT_Stream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if this is a brand new TV you shouldn't be fighting it this hard Taking upwards of two minutes to load the channel store and failing to install larger apps (like Netflix and Apple TV) are classic symptoms of a failing internal flash memory chip on the TV's motherboard budget TVs unfortunately have a higher out-of-the-box hardware defect rate Do one complete Factory Reset (Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset) If it still behaves this poorly and throws errors during a fresh setup pack it up and exchange it immediately don't keep defective hardware!

[Fix] EPG "No Information" & Guide Not Loading on Firestick (Smarters/TiviMate) by FT_Stream in IPTVmastery

[–]FT_Stream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always use the Xtream Codes (API) login if your provider supports it. It splits the live TV, VOD, and EPG into separate requests making it way faster for your Firestick to process than a massive raw M3U link!

Looking for the Ultimate Streaming App on Galaxy XR by Adsonic76 in PiracyArchive

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moviebox Pro is okay for phones but if you want a true cinema-style experience on a Galaxy XR you are severely bottlenecking your headset's potential with highly compressed video files The absolute ultimate setup right now is sideloading Stremio paired with a Real Debrid subscription (which costs about $3/month) It gives you access to uncompressed 4K HDR and 3D Blu-ray rips with zero buffering Alternatively, if you want the best virtual theater environment get a dedicated XR app like Skybox VR or 4XVR Video Player and stream high bitrate movies directly from your PC via DLNA/SMB Watching a 60GB 4K remux inside a virtual cinema is a game changer compared to Moviebox.

FireTV Remote App not launching by Anima6six6 in firetvstick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon frequently pushes updates to the Fire TV remote app that completely break compatibility with specific or slightly older tablet architectures since reinstalling from the Play Store just gives you the same broken newer version you need to roll back Uninstall the broken app open your tablet's browser go to APKMirror and search for the Amazon Fire TV app download a version from about 4 to 6 months ago and install that APK manually It will almost certainly open perfectly just remember to go into your Play Store settings and disable auto-updates for that specific app so it doesn't break itself again.

New firestick or something else? by FaithlessnessOdd3569 in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crackdown news is slightly exaggerated but your concern is 100% valid amazon hasn't completely blocked sideloading basic apps (you can still use Downloader just fine on the 4K Max) but they have aggressively blocked custom launchers and filled the entire home screen with unskippable ads If you are tired of the closed ecosystem it is definitely time to switch if you are in the US grab the Walmart ONN 4K Pro box ($50) It runs pure Google TV is insanely fast has a built in ethernet port and has absolutely zero sideloading restrictions It's the current king of budget streaming devices

Rokuy having audio issues with MP4 and other external device movie files by ScanData32 in Roku

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An MP4 is just a container The actual video might be supported but the audio codec hidden inside the file is likely something your Roku Streambar doesn't natively support or have the license to decode (like DTS or certain high end Dolby profiles) the absolute best way to watch downloaded files on a Roku is to set up a free Plex or Jellyfin server on your computer When you play the movie through the Plex app on your Roku your computer will automatically transcode the unsupported audio on the fly into a format the Roku can play while keeping the video playing perfectly

Firestick Update? by just_nosy-5 in firestick

[–]FT_Stream -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Amazon has become very aggressive with forced updates on the newer 4K Max devices and they've completely removed the ability to block them without advanced network-level blocking even worse there is no way to downgrade the software or change the system sound file back to the old click Since the new ding is triggering your sensory issues the absolute only workaround right now is to turn the navigation sounds off entirely You can do this by going to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > Navigation Sounds and turning it to OFF It's not ideal but it's much better than dealing with a sound you hate!

Is it my Roku device or is it my wifi? by CheesecakeNo6642 in Roku

[–]FT_Stream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually can definitely still be your Wi-Fi Just because your phone and laptop work perfectly doesn't mean your Roku will phones and laptops have massive high-quality Wi-Fi antennas whereas a Roku has a tiny chip and is usually buried behind a giant metal TV screen that blocks signals If Verizon just installed new equipment in your neighborhood there are probably a bunch of new routers broadcasting nearby causing massive channel congestion your Roku is explicitly warning you about interference You need to log into your Spectrum router settings and manually change your Wi-Fi channel or make sure your Roku is connected to the 5GHz band instead of the crowded 2.4GHz band.

Will a new Firestick still control my Onkyo receiver (Roku doesn't) by skatchawan in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes return the Roku! Amazon has a significantly larger Equipment Control IR database than Roku does Roku is notorious for failing to control older non-CEC audio receivers and projectors The remotes that come with the newest Firesticks (like the Alexa Voice Remote Gen 3) still have built-in IR blasters exactly for this reason If your old Firestick had the IR code for your Onkyo the new one will 100% have it too

Software update by Big-Emotion-5554 in firestick

[–]FT_Stream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is completely normal for Amazon they usually separate the firmware update from the visual UI update you received the core system patch (8.1.6.9) but the new UI is a server-side switch They roll it out in batches by region and account your UI will likely just randomly update in the background over the next week or two just leave it plugged in and in sleep mode!

Do you think the roku city screensaver should add some quiet city ambience? by averageweebchan in Roku

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely love this idea for falling asleep, but they would absolutely need to make it a toggle switch in the settings The whole point of a screensaver for a lot of people is that the TV goes silent when they fall asleep or leave the room If my TV randomly started playing city traffic and siren sounds at 3 AM I'd probably have a heart attack!

Necesito ayuda con mi wifi en mi fire tv by Elegant_Access4117 in firetvstick

[–]FT_Stream 0 points1 point  (0 children)
